5 reviews for Otto’s Elm Grove Liquor
| esjaygee (103), Oak Creek, Wisconsin | | April 19, 2009 Basically just another liquor store. Selection is okay, with some bombers and foreign selections. Bought a few reduced price seasonal offerings. They had Sam Adams Chocolate Bock for 9.99, which was the lowest I’d ever seen it. Smattering of six packs, mostly local, but other stuff like Pyramid, Upland, Founders, etc mixed in. I didn’t get the bad vibe about the service as other raters did. The person who came up to me was friendly and had some suggestions. | | Syd (26), Waconia, Minnesota | | May 1, 2008 My cousin lives in Elm Grove and I’ve been to this shop around holidays. I like the selection. I even picked up a Founders Breakfast. For a Twin Cities guy, this place rocks as a place not far from the family in Elm Grove or the hotel on Blue Mound (stayed at several). It brings good holiday memories. | evildork (1), does not count - explanation | | February 1, 2008 This is a terrible store. I’ve been a sometimes regular customer of this establishment for over a decade now. I live within walking distance, but I got in the habit of going elsewhere on account of their pricing and early (8pm) closing time.
Their service is AWFUL. Do not expect any help in making a selection or finding a favorite brew from the clerks. They are particularly rude towards younger customers who are required to fill out a form with their address, phone number, and signature as some sort of extra ID verification. They do not have a sense of humor either. No funny stuff! | | Ughsmash (138), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | January 8, 2008 I’ve been here a couple times, and agree with Gondor. They have a decent amount of beers, but prices are on the high side and everything’s available very close by. There was also the time I purchased an obscure Eastern European lager and the clerk was making fun of me about it. The only plus was when they were closing out one of the Tyranena BGW beers, and I got a couple 4-packs for $5-something each.. that ruled. | | StewardofGondor (122), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin | | March 1, 2005 Unimpressive and inflated prices. You can get anything they offer here at other local retail favorites within 15 miles. |
