| tderoeck (93), Gent, Belgium | | December 9, 2011 Visited this place on multiple occasions. They give a nice tour where you get to see everything, only the guy giving the tour is not so knowledgeable about the technical brewing details. Then again, he’s just the tour guide, not the brewer nor working in the brewery. Oh well. The service during the tasting session afterwards is really good. Very friendly, you get whatever is available and very fast. Which leads us to the letdown of this place. Despite having an enormous portfolio of beers, they only have their main promotional flagships to try. The Augustijn series, Gulden Draak and one Piraat. No Bornem beers, no Celis White, no Leute Bokbier, only the Sparta pils was on tap once. too bad, because people visiting a brewery are in general more interested than your average customer. So it’s a shame they can’t offer them something special. | | yngwie (128), Kristiansand, Norway | | August 27, 2011 I’m not sure if this place is open on a regular basis, but we certainly got beer here on our trip with Podge. Jef was an excellent host, and it was fun to watch his young son acting as bar keeper, although he had to stand on his toes to reach the lower part of the tap handle. We also got a tour of the brewery and premises, and could buy bottles at very reasonable prices to bring back home. If you’re ever doubting about attending a visit here, don’t. I wasn’t so very keen on going, but it certainly was a really nice stay. | | Rune (234), Tromsø, Norway | | May 20, 2011 [ Updated June 28, 2011 ] We spent about two hours at the brewery during Podges Belgian Beer Tour. We met in the tasting room, had a few beers while the owner gave us the history of Van Steenberge and especially mentioned the great contributions and inspiration made by his grandfather. A full guided tour followed before we ended up in the tasting room again for more beers. We tasted quite a good range of their most popular beers like Gulden Draak, Piraat, Augustijn but also the local pilsner called Sparta Pils. However, this is certainly not a place to go for tasting van Steenberges special kinds of brews. Well worth the visit, though (Saturday 30.04.2011). | | BriSava (77), , Japan | | May 15, 2011 Family-owned medium-scale brewery. Joining the factory tour and tasting their beers. But only the regular beers could be available. | | Abio (37), Waasland, Belgium | | April 12, 2010 [ Updated June 11, 2010 ] Today i got with a friend a tour in this brewery. It was a very nice trip, with some good information, and we got to see really a lot of the brewingprocess. At the end we got offered some beers to taste. Only a bit sad only the regular beers were available. It was really very nice, thank you to show us around! | | Jerre (67), Waregem, Belgium | | March 27, 2008 Yesterday with some guys from Zythos.
We have a tour @ the working brewery
with brewingenieur Koen De Cock.
