Great people and a great little cozy place to enjoy few of Belgiums finest beers. They even have some food to soak up the beers. Patť, dry cured sausage and dried fish. So simple but so right.

The most fun and traditional (at the same time) brewery tour ever had. Kris and his wife are maybe the most passionate persons I haver met and the atmosphere that you can feel here is incredible!! The selection on tap and bottle is seasonal, but kris was in the right mood and opened for us and his brother some gems! If you come to Belgium and you donít visit De Dolle you must be crazy!!!! Better to have a car...

The temple of beer creativity and tradition, lovely place. Kris the head brewer is a creative an passionate beer man, his wife and mother helped us after the tour with the beers on tap. He also let us taste a couple of his reserva beers (oerbier in Bordeaux barrels) directly from the barrel.. Amazing! The location is perfect, colorful and in the nature, there are also a couple of really good snacks availables. The best brewery in the world!

Decent size drinking area that housed us after the tour by Kris. Okay selection, but they were missing some of their regular offerings. No biggie. Price is fair given that you are paying for the nice atmosphere as well. Tour was nice. Walked past the fully stocked cellar hiding a lot of their older and special beers.

My second trip to Belgium made me realize that I forgot to review this place from my first trip there in 2006. One of my favourite Belgium souvenir. I got there through private transportation but be ready for a long walk from the nearest train station. Tours on Sundays only and I recommend it. The tour has no technical information whatsoever. Donít think youíll learn anything about De Dolle brewing tricks. The tour is more a history lesson of the brewery. Given by a 150 year old grand mother it was totally unreal. Very very cool. Then you can drink at the brewery pub. I was served Arabier and Oerbier by the brewer himself. He was wearing a shirt that I didnít think anyone who dare wear in public. This place is unreal. Their beers are unreal. You must visit if you love De Dolle.

Visited this 2 weeks ago with Dennoman, took the train from antwerp ,a 2 hour drive and then it was 6minutes of busdriving so actually pretty do-able if you donít want to look for a designated driver ...
Took the tour with Kris ís mother ( who i believe is 96 at the moment !! )
And it was great fun, she sure knows allot about the brewery and the ingrediŽnts used, and she sure knows how to get the show going.
Went there offcourse to pick up a bottle of SNR 2010, and we were able to taste some beers on draft like fresh Arabier, really good btw ! and the SNR 2010 and regular stille nacht on tap, really jummy ! the food altough itís only local made sausage and Patť made with oerbier but i just love these plain simple foods !
Kris and his wife were a little bussy at the time to actually chat with them and we only had a good 3 hours with the 45min tour included before we had to go back to the station. but then again there were allot of visitors and offcourse customer for the SNR 2010 so i donít blame them :-) very good place to visit !

Great atmosphere, and a good place to discover the beer culture that is called De Dolle Brouwers.
Still an absolutely marvel to see Krisís mother doing the tour around the brewery.
Great beers, and I had the delight of bringing a í91 bottle of Arabier back to the source, and sharing it with Kris and a few beer enthusiasts from Doncaster.
All in all a great place, would recommend a visit to everyone (though a car and a designated driver might come in handy).

A fantastic brewery and a fantastic place to visit and sample the beers following a brewery tour. The bar is cosy and relaxing and the staff are friendly. A great experience.

(visit: January 2011) Nice relaxed atmosphere with a lot of walkers or cyclists stopping by for a drink. Service can be a bit slow, but Chris is not the kind of guy to stress out. Selection is seasonal, but I think if you only have so many beers, you should offer all of them in the brewery. And which Belgian beer geek did not take the tour with Chrisí mom? A big little old lady. Amazing how she even does the tours in English! A must have been for any Belgian beer geek and traveller capable of getting there (I figure you really need a car to get there).
