The selection is not very impressive here, meaning that the offer comprises many beers that are widely available throughout the country or at least regionally. After all, Essen is a small town, and I doubt the majority of its population are beer geeks like we are here. But still, there are a lot of good quality beers available there, including some from smaller breweries like Scheldebrouwerij. There are other advantages: Prices are much lower than what you would pay in the (touristy) specialized beer shops in the center of Brussels. And the store is in a walking distance from the train station, so that you will not necessarily need a car to buy some beers on your way home from the Kerstbierfestival.

If you haven’t tasted a lot of beers this is a good place to go. Enough choice, but no very special beers.

Smaller then De Caigny in Essen and here also a hall used as a shop for spirits, wine, liquide and beer. It has been based on belgische beers and you can also buy giftpacks.

I found a ton of beer that I hadn’t rated. Being Christmas helped since they carried the seasonal beer. Of course they had ton of trappist and lambics in stock! The staff was able to let me have a westmalle rack, which works awesome for those odd sized bottles. Great place, but not perfect.

Disappointing. Enough beers in stock, but most are macros and well known Belgian ales.
