| rougeau13 (54), Texas | | June 14, 2011 Taking a trip to Estes Park, this was a no brainer. The building looks a touch run down, but inside it’s big with large tvs for watching a game and pool tables. We had nachos, which were decent, but not great. It was fun trying all of their beers for free and then just buying a couple with dinner upstairs. That being said, the beer is very average to mediocre, and unless I see something new to rate, I won’t be seeking an EP beer again. The people were really nice though. | | RudiNicole (77), Michigan | | April 25, 2011 Came here visiting at friend who lives in Estes, lets say it was a quick visit. Tasted a couple beers before we made our way upstairs, and I was already aware this was not the best beer. We had two pints each, only because it was happy hour, and all I could handle was the Raspberry Wheat. The food was all frozen/fried, so it is hard to screw that up. I would only suggest a visit if you are going to Rocky Mountain National Park, and driving past. | | adnielsen (277), Fort Collins, Colorado | | October 13, 2010 [ Updated July 20, 2011 ] I had some pretty good pizza here but the kicker was the mediocre to poor beers. The following is simply outstanding: I wanted to taste all of the beers. Downstairs in the gift shop they were free... up ten stairs in the restaurant, it would have cost me over $25 to get a sampler of every beer. Unbelievable. Luckily I went downstairs after lunch and drank the BLAH beers for free. Not recommended unless you’re spending the day in Estes Park and you need to rate some new beers. | | savnac (155), Anchorage, Alaska | | June 7, 2010 Had lunch and some beers. Kind of old looking place. Gift shop and tasting room downstairs and a big open sit down area upstairs. We received good service. Food was good but nothing special, typical road stop/diner food. The beer was alright, but seems like they cater to the masses. | | Lagunitasfan (30), San Diego, California | | February 27, 2010 I was so happy to find this place! Just down the hill from the YMCA camp. Decent brews on tap and growler fills. Nice way to escape for a couple of hours. | | 3fourths (962), Boulder, Colorado | | May 26, 2009 Upstairs seems like someone’s converted attic. Terrible aesthetics and layout. Long bar, typical wait staff with feigned interest in anything you have to ask them. Families, tourist and loud kids all over. Typical pub food. Beer is not great but is much better than the bile you find in their bottles. Only brewpub for miles, worth a few mins of time from the dedicated beer traveler but it’s by no means a destination. | | Lumpy (50), Carrollton, Texas | | February 3, 2009 Average to below average beer, good location, didn’t have the food. The beer is the same ber that yo get at every half assed brewpup in the USA. Worth a visit if you are in the area, but don’t plan your day around it. | | brentfeesh (77), Gadsden, Alabama | | October 18, 2007 Stopped by early evening. This place was much larger than I imagined and a little sloppier than I guessed too. LOTS of kids and families. It was not an atmosphere that I would enjoy for any period of time but it was tolerable (reminded me of the Smoky Mountain brewery for those that have been there). Food selection was sports bar in make up and fair tasting (I did not have the pizza but it looked good). The beer selection was decent and all were fairly drinkable. My biggest beef was the service. Once our waiter took our initial order I did not see him until I was trying to pay the check. I had to get my own silver ware and napkins and flag down other waiters to get water. I only got my initial 4 beer sampler and that was it as I could not have ordered more if I have wanted. I left annoyed. Would I go back??? I suppose so if I really, really, wanted a beer. | | bhensonb (375), Woodland, California | | August 4, 2007 Strangely large. Lots of places to be. Lots of things to look at. Quite a few beers on tap, quite good food of the common sorts. That’s not a knock; the selection is good, and the food is good. Definitely worth the time. | | Dansting (114), Overland Park, Kansas | | June 27, 2007 Located in beautiful Estes Park. The place was okay to look at on the inside and clean, but the view outside was gorgeous. The food was above average. Similar menu to most brewpubs. Beers were pretty good. They also had a tasting counter, which I didn’t hit. A nice place to go while in the area. |
