| downender (196), Bristol, England | | May 19, 2012 Visited 12/05.2912. A short walk across the valley from the Bridge Inn at Topsham. As mentioned below, this is a modern out of town complex, but selling high quality local produce. The beer and cider section offers a wider range, challenging Tuckers Maltings for Devon supremacy. The range of bottled beers appeared to pretty much cover everything on offer in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset, with the best of the rest form the west country such as Arbor and Moor. Green Valley cider are based here and tastings are on offer, along with a wide range of ciders, including some unusual Devon and Somerset offerings. Prices were pretty keen. A must visit place. | | ALLOVATE (84), Butler, WA, Australia | | November 24, 2011 Strange to judge a beer store inside a store. A weaving shopping complex with a tucked away beer and cider store, and even mored hidden ciderworks just beyond the shelving units. Met the head cider maker and sampled a few of his wares, but didn’t take notes which was a shame as they were tasty drops. 200+ beers and ciders, most impressive are the line-up of locally produced micros. Beer glasses available, also from the micros on show, and the staff are extra keen to meet other entusiasts as I ended up spending a good hour here chatting away. Aside this, its a gourmets delight for food. Myself a chef I just got lost in the amount of quality produce available. Darts Farm, though a very modern place, is definitely worth a visit or two! | | johndoughty (15), cheslyn hay, England | | September 27, 2010 Excellent selection of beers, mainly local including some rare micros and a handful of Belgium’s and a couple of Germans. Staff are helpful and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The
restaurant is excellent as well. Well worth stopping off for. | | shrubber85 (132), Greenville, Indiana | | June 13, 2009 Large farm shop with a lot of local products. Large selection of bottled ciders/perries and regional beers. Not far from the motorway. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area. | | Quack-Duck (149), Down South, Germany | | May 27, 2007 Ale and Cider House inside the farm shop. This farm shop is like a shopping centre, with butchers, greengrocers, bakery etc. Abou 200 bottles beers, mostly from England, some from Belgium. Glassware available. Many rare English micros, local ales as well as from many other parts of Britain. Friendly owner, who is happy to help. Reasonable prices - highly recommended shop. |
