Nice spot in the brewery district of Fort Collins. I’ve got to say the ’biance is quite nice. The beers are decent. I think they’re maybe a little overrated though. Chris Lively once told me most American sours are dog shit, and he’s closer to right than many would like to admit. These aren’t dog shit, but we’re not talking Russian River here. Funny story - my coworker came with me and he doesn’t like fruity stuff. Literally EVERY SINGLE BEER on the menu had fruit notes in its deScription. He asked the server for something non-fruity and the guy was at a loss. So if you’re a fruity kind of guy (or girl), this is your place!

Last stop on a great beer tour day of the FoCo area. I loved the place and the people. The barrel room in the back that’s climate controlled has picnic tables and cool lighting...it is a really neat place to hangout and drink beer. There is also an outdoor area to drink if the weather is accommodating. My friend and I tried 2 flights of 5 beers...and with some sharing got to each try 10 of the 13 available to us that day. Funkwerks is primarily a sour beer house...but they have such a variety of styles and in some cases almost crossovers...I’d say there is something here for everyone...even those that don’t consider themselves sour beer drinkers...and to that I tip my hat...because this style isn’t for everyone...but this is a great place to start. They remind me of what Wicked Weed’s Funkatorium is doing in Asheville, NC.

This is probably my favorite out of the half dozen or so area brewpubs I visited. It is a cute little taproom w/ loud/simple color schemes and metalwork bars. It basically looks like the office of an internet start-up. This said, it had a bright, sunny feel which I felt was a pleasant change of pace from the stuffy, dark feel a lot of bars and brewpubs seem to strive for. The beer is really good too with samplers available of everything--though I don’t think they had any beer aside from their own. It’s not the cheapest place in town but not out of line by any stretch of imagination. Definitely, if I find myself in the area, this will be first on my list of repeats.

Stopped with my family on my way into Fort Collins; not too hard to find off Hwy 14. Lovely patio and grass for a sunny June day, with games that my kids enjoyed. The beer selection is good, with some interesting taps. The prices weren’t great but weren’t terrible either ($11 for 5 4 oz. specialty taps; $9 for 5 regular ones). The food options are few and didn’t interest us. Not a huge place, and the beers aren’t mind-blowing, but they’re thoughtful and worth a detour.

Very small pub with an awesome selection of beer. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the beers were good. Didn’t eat anything.

Small, cozy, and overall excellent joint that I was happy to visit several months ago. Stopped in on a gorgeous late Friday afternoon with some good friends, and enjoyed many of this breweries fine offering. Super-friendly and knowledgeable staff, bright setting, and a wide range of excellent brews. The flight was ridiculous, with 1/3 full tulips instead of the usual wee shot-glasses. Great family vibe, an absolute must if in FC.

Considering how broad Funkwerks’ distribution is and the notoriety they’re gaining, this is small tap room. It is very cozy though and there is probably more outdoor seating than indoor. I was surprised at how low the beer prices were. $3 for a half pour and $5 for a full pour of imperial saison is very fair. They only had 5 beers on tap, but Funkwerks has never been known for variety. They do one thing and they do it well. Despite the tap room’s small size and the rain keeping everyone off the patio, it wasn’t too crowded inside on a Wednesday afternoon. Service was attentive. If you visit nearby New Belgium and Odell, this would be a cool, more intimate stop.

Tiny little tap room, but comfortable. Service was self serve and efficient, but too many people and 1 bartender make it hard for much more. Selection is only their own stuff, most of which was out. Prices were average. The Belgian yeast they use wasn’t my cup of tea, so I only liked one of their beers, so just be aware that there is not a huge variance styles.

Visited April 6, 2014.
Got there on an arranged bus ride. There are plenty of parking available.
Sampled quite a few of their beers, also had a look inside the brewery. Nice place!
Visited with two friends on October 9, 2012. Good service, sampled the six beers they had on taps. Did not eat, don’t think you can.

Great little place, better in the summer when the grass is green. Service is good, all at the bar ordering. They have many beers that they do not bottle available, so selection is good, though it is only their beers. Their beers are always a bit pricey, so you get a pretty good deal comparitively. Overall, definitely worth going to if you are into belgian beers, or beer in general.
