66 Centrally located in the lovely downtown of Fort Worth. Big patio and long list of beers. 77 beers on tap. Predefined flights available. Wifi was working. We were sitting in the patio so I don’t know how full the bar was but at least the patio was less than one third full. The service was incredibly slow and inattentive. I wanted to have couple more beers but as getting the first one took 30 minutes I decided not to have more. The food was alright. |
80 Came here on 30.4.2016. Flying Saucers seems to be a US wide chain similar to Yard House, but much more into beer and with a far better selection. Great long bar and dark interior, all walls are decorated with colorful plates. Seems guests can earn their signature plates by drinking a certain amount of beers. Beer selection is quite impressive. 80 draught beers including Cantillon Kriek, Ska Brewing, Green Flash, Paulaner Oktoberfest, etc. I had a Modus Hoperandi from Ska Brewing. Overall, even it is a chain, a really good beer bar and draught emporium is not an exaggeration. |
76 Solid place, great selection, but when we went, they were out of half the stuff. Otherwise, it would get a higher score. Tons of great stuff on tap ,but again, docked b/c of lack of options available. |
84 Cool place! Nice draft list, good bottles. Service was attentive even though it was busy as hell. |
82 Stopped in on my way to the Untapped festival. Pretty typical decor for a flying saucer with a nice outdoor area that was unfortunately not used due to the rain. Server was helpful and knowledgeable on what was available. A strong selection, but not the best among Flying Saucer’s. Prices were good, a was the traditional Flying Saucer fare. A nice stop in downtown Ft. Worth. |
86 Visiting from Chicago I was pleasantly surprised with the beer selection. 80 Tappers and anywhere from 150-300 different bottle selections. Food is good and the service is good. Nice patio when the weather is nice. Look forward to the next visit. |
86 A great place for Texas beer. Visted on a Thursday night. Band was playing outside and had a large crowd. Found a seat at the bar and tried a number of local brews. Food was good. Service was excellent. I believe a must stop. |
92 This is an amazing place. On a business trip to Ft Worth I visited for lunch. They open at 11 AM. There is a large outside treed area that was pleasant even on a hot day. Homer was my bartender and he was helpful in selecting beers from Texas for me to try. The fish tacos were excellent. This is the place to visit in Ft Worth. We visted again with my brother prior to a MNF when the Redskins beat the Cowboys.. We were impressed with the $3 beers on tap. This is a wonderful place to taste new beers. |
94 Inviting interior has plenty of seating, and patio has lots of tables for when the weather is pleasant. Selection is extensive, emphasizing local brews. Service is quick and efficient. They have live music sometimes, but it is not too loud. Food is mostly typical bar farebut well-done and with some good vegetarian selections. Definitely a must if you live in - or are visiting - the DFW area. |
82 I have visited Dallas for work about 20 times over the past 15 years, and for some reason I have always had the urge to visit Fort Worth. This week, I had multiple hours to kill before a flight, so decided to swing over to the Flying Saucer. Located right in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, the first thing I noticed was the huge outdoor patio and stage on the side of the bar. I am sure this is a great spot on a warm day. The interior is typical Flying Saucer with a big bar, tables around the outside, and plates all around the wall. Like most Flying Saucer’s, the draft list was solid. The interior of this location seemed a lot more comfortable and pub like versus others I have visited. Nice spot. 82 = ★★★½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
