Visited April 2012. Busy place, it was crowded mid afternoon on a Thursday, with attentive table service and a wide selection of beers. I tried the taster tray of eight Monk beers, which was very enjoyable, with the Rauchbier and The Chief being the stand outs. Plays a central part in making Fremantle a great beer venue.

I frequent this one. Many a messy afternoon spent here, peoplewatching and generally getting rowdy. One of the very few breweries I’ve been that I haven’t rated a single offering. Must make more of an effort to get the notebook out as their Rauchbier is one of my all-time favourites. Fairly simple menu, but adequate and tasty, with the odd dish being cooked outside in the al fresco. When the Paella pan comes out I come a running. Well set-out. Central bar with excellent service offered by the hipster staff. The house beers are fantastic, but with the option of a good Aussie micro or US craft beer, it just ticks even more boxes. Recommended!

As well as having there own range of beer they also serve a large selection of NZ/Aus/US craft beer which was great to see. The food was ok with no complaints and i cant wait to go again.

Nice and quiet pub in the heart of freo. Love that you can get tasting trays of their beers here and when they had US craft beer week you could make up your own of awesome hoppy US beers which was pretty cool. Good food and good value

Lovely brewpub in my hometown. This and the Little Creatures pubs have made the place far more exciting lately. The Rauchbier is great and the food was also very good. Also nice location on the Cappuccino Strip

Love the location of this joint. Seating in or out. Had amazing food recently at the Stone’s dinner but since the chef has gone to Feral the food has become less ’beer orientated’ which was part of the amusement I suppose. Great US beers on show during the US craft beer week and Steph was fantastic to deal with throughout the time. The Rauch is one worth trying if you’re there for the Monk’s beers. Nice place

Visited several times during January-March 2008. Built around the brewery which was encased in glass. Good atmosphere and a friendly but slow staff. They used beer and mashed malts in the bread and served really good food. The beers were OK at the time.

Third stop on my Freo brewery/brewpub tour. Pretty nice looking place, inside and out. Staff was friendly and pretty quick to help. Selection was 8 taps, I believe, including a decent rauch beer. Not sure if there were any bottled offerings. Prices were about the same as other places in the area. Good place, and somewhere that I hope to revisit again a little later in the year.

I had time for a quick sit-down to taste their sampler tray on our recent return visit to Perth. The open-air design and central location make this an appealing place to spend some time. I did not eat, but the food going out looked really good! Helpful attentive staff, quality beers with some interesting offerings (a very nice smoked lager and a lovely belgian wit, IMO).
