| kevinsenn (31), Waterloo, Ontario | | October 17, 2011 Great selection of Quebec microbrews and a knowledgable staff. As a visitor from Ontario I was overwhelmed with beers I’d never heard of. A definite must for anyone visiting the area. | | rejtable (25), Ontario | | October 14, 2011 Best bottle shop in the area. Always interesting selection of PQ crafts. Gilles is a great guy if he’s around. Nothing bad at all to say about this place, definitely worth it as a destination if you are looking for PQ stuff in the Gatineau area. | | Johnsense (33), , | | August 7, 2011 99% Quebec beer, and that;s just fine with me. The best selection I’ve seen outside montreal. No Hopfenstark or Trou du Diable, but plenty of DDC, Charlevoix, LTM, etc. The mediocre Quebec brewers are out in full force here as well, but the staff are able to steer you towards the better offerings. Prices are a big higher than other places in the Gatineau area, but the selection is probably the best in the city. Staff is very knowedgable. | kjeldahl (4), Sault Ste Marie, Ontario does not count - explanation | | May 2, 2011 Found Brou Ha Ha on the internet and while on a visit to Ottawa decided to check it out. To say the least it was beer heaven especially coming from Northern Ontario. The staff was extermely helpful and curteous and led us to the beer tasting. All the walls were stocked with single bottles of mainly Quebec microbrews while six or twelve packs were in the middle. The prices seemed very much in line with other beers I have purchased in the United States. Hope to get back there in the near future. | loveofbeer (1), Quebec does not count - explanation | | March 30, 2011
I was impressed first off by the cleanliness of the store. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We were having a beer tasting party and he helped us select just the right meat and cheeses for each beer we bought. The choices of beers range far and wide from fruity to chocolaty, spicy to bitter, strong to mild. Amazing selection on hand, I will recommend this store to many. | | pushkinwow (54), Ottawa, Ontario | | February 9, 2011 Now that it is firmly established I would say this is the best place to buy beer within the National Capitol Region. Selection is mostly Quebec micros but they have a wide range and usually get the seasonal offerings in (and more recently they have gotten a decent amount of the special beers). Owner knows his beer, runs regular tastings to give people an opportunity to try things they wouldn’t normally buy - frequently paired with local food of some sort (cheese, sausage etc). Regularly updates via facebook and email so that you know what is new in stock. | Irakesh (1), Quebec does not count - explanation | | December 17, 2010 The only problem with the selection is that sometimes they don’t receive alot of every selection. They don’t order large quantities. But the selection is always awesome. You can ask any question to the people working there and they will suggest the right beer. If you can find one of their beer elsewhere, it’s probably 10 to 15 cent less, but most of the beer found here can’t be find within 100 miles radius... For me, this is the best place in the Natianal Capital region so far to buy beer. /
| | Sammy (408), Toronto, Ontario | | November 17, 2010 The place to buy beer now in Gatineau/Aylmer and dare I say Ottawa. Fairly good seletion for outside of the Montreal core. Friendly bright and clean store, not too small and filled with cheese and chocolate as well. The owner has gotten up to speed on what’savailable and yes, English is well spoken here. Well labelled. No specials, the prices seem fine. | jejosephine (1), does not count - explanation | | August 20, 2010 J’adore cet endroit ou on trouve une variété impressionnante de bières originales et un service très courtois. | | JesseM (31), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario | | August 4, 2010 [ Updated July 24, 2011 ] Really nice spot introduced to me by a friend from the Ottawa area. Kind of out-of-the-way and easy to miss, but man would you be missing a gem. Smallish place that specializes in beer, and seems to carry everything worthwhile in the Quebec craft beer scene. Prices are very reasonable compared to other places. Service was great, just one guy I assumed was the owner, very friendly and really seemed to know his stuff when it came to his products. Picked up a number of great things here and would love to go back. An easy place to drop considerable cash in and not feel guilty. Definitely check it out, some cool meats as well including Kangaroo burgers. |
