Divided into three sections; a dining room and a cafe with a traditional pub in between. Five Scottish cask ales from breweries like Tryst and Kelburn, one brewdog on tap, and some interesting bottled beers in the fridge behind the counter, more than usual for a place like this. Has got a rough and rocky image. Central location. Polite service. Busy on a Friday afternoon, 13.04.2012.

This is one of the best real ale pubs in Glasgow. Whenever you are in Merchants City, pay a visit to this place and you won’t regret.

A really excellent selection of beers & decent, knowledgeable staff advice. Expensive although not overly when compared to other pubs & bars near by. Would go back just for the collection of beers available on-tap, one of the most varied in Glasgow.

Unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations, as the selection was really boring when we were there and the interior doesn’t have much personality. However, the service was friendly and the coming soon/racked beer list had some good options. Must have been a spot of bad timing.

Absolutely superb. Timely visit last night, after the Babbity Bowster nearby. Pub rocking with a lively clientele of all agegroups, and an all-Scottish range of five ales, all well kept and including a sublime Brewdog IPA. Service was quick and local drinkers very friendly. Reasonably priced beer, with everything of 5% or less at £2.90, strong beers at £3.20. Crowd at weekends can be noisy at times, but not so loud as to be uncomfortable; recorded music was at an agreeable level. Live music and comedy acts staged: check with the pub for further details. Recommended.

Quite liked this place, though it’s a bit confusing. It seems like a relatively downmarket pub trying to do the posh gastropub thing in the corner which lent it a weird vibe, but once you’re in position it seems fairly normal. Good service, good food and a strong selection of beers with a focus on the BrewDog and the American in bottles (e.g. they had a Victory promotion going when I was there).
