Located right in the city centre. Unusual peninsula bar serving six cask ales. Rather large place giving a traditional-modern impression divided in a drinking area and dining room. Belongs to the Nicholson’s pub chain. Polite service. Crap muzak. Not exactly my kind of pub, without soul, perhaps (visited 11.04.2012).

Nice scottish pub good selection of beers would go again for sure nice place

Traditional Scottish pub in City Centre close to Central Station. 5 real ale taps (4 in use) with interesting well cared for beers. Nice quiet atmosphere with great service from barman who is real ale enthusiast and CAMRA member. Good food menu, will return to sample.

Review based on visit of 25th April 2010. Large traditional corner pub with central bar, ornate ceiling, tiled walls and traditional furniture and fittings. Three ales kept at any time, which change periodically, from a prescribed list; tasting notes are provided at each table. Thornbridge Jaipur IPA was on top form. Wide food choice with eleven Scottish dishes available with traditional English ones to complement them. Quieter than I’d have expected for Sunday lunch, but relaxed and pleasant. I rather liked the pub.

Nice Scottish pub with above average food and good value. Limited but good selection of British beers on tap.

A classy and well-furnished city centre pub. Beautiful marble walls and pillars and an ornate plastered ceiling. Deep,comfy leather seating, attractive u-shaped central bar. A bar from another era. Only 3 handpulls, but defintely worth a look.
