| | beeroverwithme (29), Tønsberg, Norway | | February 6, 2012 [ Updated February 7, 2012 ] The Red Lion is a cozy pub, a bit in the outskirts of Göteborg (but right next to the Mariaplan stop on tram line #3), with a decent selection of craft beer and a good kitchen if you feel like eating too. I had their Baby Back Ribs, which was well done in American style and size. On draft they had Mikkeller, Dugges, Sigtuna and Oppigård and the nice waiter ventured down into the cellar to bring up some beer bottles, not on the bottle menu, when he realized we were beer trotters :) The only negative thing is that Red Lion doubles as a football pub, meaning that suddenly they may pull down the blinds and fire up a huge video screen to show a game ... which kind of ruins the cozy pub feel. Last visit: Feb 4, 2012. | Clyx (7), , Sweden does not count - explanation | | September 4, 2011 This is a great place for the summer. Good value on the beer and the food. I’ve only tried Caesar Salad and the Baby Back Ribs and both were outstanding. Recommended for anyone who just feel like relaxing. | Geten (7), Gävle, Sweden does not count - explanation | | August 31, 2011 Was there in the end of June. Tried the veggieburger which was good and watched a soccer game while there. Of course also tried some beers, they had a decent tap selection with some nice micros. | | gnoff (200), Göteborg, Sweden | | March 31, 2011 Been a few times, but located rather off compared to where I work and live, also to wehre I usually hang. It’s a nice place though, so should tke the trek out there more often I guess. Haven’t eaten, but get good service with the beers, and a very relaxed atmosphere. | jarvinho (2), , Sweden does not count - explanation | | January 23, 2011 I love this place. Really nice atmosphere with lots of regulars and great staff. Good selection of beers with rotating selection of swedish micros and a plenty of other nonsense from around the world. My only complaint is that the vege-burgers have recently changed and the new ones are not up the standard of the previous. Prices are pretty reasonable for Sweden, but it’s not cheap.
Really nice place to sit outside on a summer evening. | Kaffesump (1), , Sweden does not count - explanation | | September 28, 2010 Probably the best pub in this part of town. They have nice food and a good selection of beer. Their hamburger is famous for its quality, dont miss it! | | Nisse666 (64), Göteborg, Sweden | | November 15, 2009 Best pub in Majorna (laid back part of Göteborg). Brittish traditonal with 5 guest keggs and a number of micorbreweries.
Food was fresh, according to the crew hamburger is the best choice (tried the lamb - that were nice). Interior dark oak wood, fresh toilets and service mind crew with bad beer feeling (?) |
