This is extremely similar to the Happy Harry’s on 45th in Fargo. Slightly worse selection, including fewer singles, but virtually identical store layout. there are actually 2 locations in Grand Forks, but this one appeared to have just a little bit more beer than the other. Decent selection of beer for where you are. Lots of Mid-West stuff like Bells, Boulevard and Granite City. Look at the mead/wine selection for those ND and SD rates. Happy Harry’s is a large, well-lit, airy place, with a very Midwest sort of vibe, not in a bad way, but you definitely notice, being from Western Canada. Had a great experience with the staff, the guy I talked to was knowledgeable, understood the sorts of things I was after, and helped me make some really great choices. Solid choice of brews, Goose Island, Boulevard, Bells, not spectacular, but very solid across the board. I ended up sending much more than I probably should have, which is always a good sign. Nice place,they stock roughly about 150 different kinds of brew from around the world but it rarely changes. |
