Not bad. It makes for a beter for a market than a beer store. Prices are ok..beer selecttion is not great and help is mostly unavailable. Gets a big WTF ever. Although I did find a Stone 12th anniversary there so it counts for something.

Great place for the gourmet cook and wine lover.. pretty good place for the beer enthusiast. Beer is lower on the priority list for G.B. Russo & Son’s than wine, spirits and gourmet items. I’ve never had a problem finding several beers that I enjoy while shopping here.

Excellent aromas can be found throughout the store none better than the Italian spices that greet you when you walk through the door. Nice selection of wines and spice and while the beer selection isn’t bad, it’s not as good as the other places in Grand Rapids. No singles section.

Nice selection of beer, huge selection of wine. Store is nicely setup and maintained. Needs more singles selection to help out the beer section. I get the impression some beer has been around there for a very long time.

(Visited 7-5-08) A low-high end grocery store much in the same vein as Whole Foods but with much more emphasis on international foods. Service- pleasant and friendly stockperson helped me with inquiries about beer that isn’t on the shelf (nope, dang). Selection- decent 22oz. selection, decent size of different 6 packs of 12oz’ers, but not able to break them- oh well. Food- well, it is a grocery, so go experiment with something different. Overall- not bad, if I was a local I would come here once a month for something different to eat and grab some brew on the way out.

Not a bad selection of warm, cold and singles. Decent selection of Michigan beers. Ambiance reminds me of my youth, but I can see how some people don’t like it. Nothing that can’t be found elsewhere (unless maybe it is out of season and sold out elsewhere).

There is definatly an oder of spice and old world stink. the wine selection is huge! beer selection is ok, but I would not recomend buying beer here. Ive had a Chemay, a Karmelet and other beers that were old and tasted bad, like cider or over fermented wine. I dont think the handel the beer properly, aka too warm or large swings in temp. Ive had to wipe the dust off bottles on occasion. Also I dont think they rotate beer stock. My advice would be to go up the road a mile and buy from B&B.

This place smells gross!! I almost couldn’t shop here because of how bad the smell of urine was burning my nose! The owner seemed very helpful, but he was sweating all over the place, so I didn’t want to get too close. (maybe he was the cause of the foul odor) Anyways, they had one or two of the wines I was looking for, but as soon as I asked about a dscounted case price, I nearly got my head bitten off. The employee working the register told me I didn’t deserve any kind of discount because I had not met thier 6 case minimum. The other lame thing about this place is they always try to sell you expired product. I’ve caught the owner scraping expiration dates off the pricey beers on more than one occasion. I would check out other local beer options if you want anything that hasn’t expired.

Store completely remodeled and beer department greatly expanded. Very friendly service. Department manager, Victor, really knows beer and is very helpful. Limited cold singles. Sometimes offers distributor close-outs at really low prices.
