| seymour (37), Saint Louis, Missouri | | November 9, 2011 This place is a fairly long drive from my home, in an area I never need to go otherwise, so it’s a definite destination. Since it’s across the state line, however, they have some interesting selections I can’t get here in Missouri. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, very easy-going about special orders. Highly recommended. | | phaleslu (241), Saint Louis, Missouri | | November 28, 2010 Getting to Corral for me means driving miles through the lovely industrial area across the river from St. Louis, so it’s an interesting drive. The place itself looks like an old west storefront with a simple liquor store inside. The service is excellent, as they held a couple things for me and called me when they arrived. Very impressive. The selection is good, with a few things we can’t get on the MO side of the River, but they recently stopped carrying DFH (which pulled out of the market) and haven’t been getting FFF shipments in. Those aren’t their fault, but the selection isn’t what it used to be according to many of the STL beer geeks I’ve gotten to know. I’m hoping they bounce back and step up the beer selection again, because otherwise I’d have a hard time convincing myself to drive back here when Randall’s and Wine and Cheese are closer. Still, along with Randall’s, this seems to be the beer store to go to in the Metro East. | | HomeBrewHawk (20), De Soto, Kansas | | March 22, 2010 You get a view of Rust Belt USA on the drive in from I-70. Definitely not a place for ambiance. Nice selection of US and Euro craft beer. Best part is you can buy singles of any beer. I stocked up on Dogfish Head and Victory when I was there. No Three Floyds when I went however. Guy behind the counter was very helpful. Not sure I would make the trip on its own, unless you really wanted Dogfish Head and Victory. Most everything else is available on the Missouri side. We were going to the Cahokia Mounds, so we were in the area. | danoo (5), Belleville, does not count - explanation | | December 15, 2009 Best place to buy beer in the St Louis, MO area. | | wwwdottom (10), Breese, Illinois | | October 24, 2009 [ Updated November 12, 2009 ] I generally come here once every three months. They have a good selection but you have to be carefull because there are plenty of brews past their "best by" date on the shelves - This place is an excellent value as you can pull singles out of any six pack and not pay a mark up! | | Finhead (10), OFallon, Illinois | | October 9, 2009 [ Updated June 7, 2011 ] For a smaller size liqour / beer store, they have an excellent selection, though it has declined a little lately. Plus. you can mix a 6-pack, which I love. The only downfall is the long checkout line. | | lizziec (10), , | | May 2, 2009 This is the place to go for breweries that are not available on the Missouri side. Just about 20 minutes from downtwon. | | Illinijs (11), | | February 10, 2009 Rather a small liquor store, but an excellent selection of craft beers. A few more brands than is available in Missouri which makes the trip across the river worthwhile | | MrMugs (10), St Louis, Missouri | | October 28, 2008 For the St Louis area, this is the best store for a wide variety of beer. unlike Missouri, you can take singles from any six-pack. | | esjaygee (204), Oak Creek, Wisconsin | | March 23, 2008 Stopped by on a trip home from St Louis. Walked in to a big bin of singles which I immediately began filling up six packs. A worker there came by and told me I could break up any six packs on the shelf with no mark-up. Nice. A pretty nice selection of stuff I can’t get around home. Plenty of domestics and foreigns too. I definitely recommend this store. |
