| Cybercat (93), Georgia | | May 19, 2012 This is essentially the same as any Whole Foods Market - and I do like ’em. I found the service people to be helpful and alert, yet not all over me or over-eager. I received assistance and service quickly even though the place was fairly busy. Beer selection includes at least three brands I have never seen before - and I have thoroughly explored beer stores in Atlanta, Raleigh, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Portland OR, Asheville and Birmingham. I didn’t try any food, but from past experience with Whole Foods I am sure that it is very good. Since this is near the Total Wine & More on Woodruff, you can hit two good beer stores in a short time. | | JCB (120), Durham, North Carolina | | May 4, 2012 Another stop on my whirlwind tour of Greenville, SC. This joint was so close to TW and I needed a sandwich. So while I was waiting for the cold cuts to be deployed I thought I’d see if they had any Westbrook Mexican Cake. No dice but they did have a little growler station where I snagged a 32oz Coast Simcoe Red. Smaller than usual assortment of beer for such a large WF. But what was there was solid enough. | | Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | February 26, 2012 This is a large Whole Foods location, bright and open. Plenty of parking. I didn’t get any help in the beer department specifically, but the employees in general here were better than average. Decent beer prices. Decent beer selection with a decent number of singles available. | | nevets4433 (26), , | | January 5, 2012 A nice, overpriced grocery store. Beer selection was surprisngly small for a Whole Foods. Some decent local selection though. Overall, too pricey. | | fata2683 (125), Tucson, Arizona | | August 26, 2010 stopped here on my way to PA. Great find, right off the highway, and right across the street from Total Wine, so both can he hit at the same time. Selection was nice, as for SC brews, Thomas Creek and Coast beers are available here along with a nice selection of imports and American craft beers. There is a mixed 6 pack section as well. Price is moderate. It’s a Whole Foods, so of course, there is plenty of good food. Definitely worth the stop, if I make the drive again, I will for sure. | | ScottButler (12), | | July 9, 2010 Good store with some harder to find beers. Not a huge selection but quality over quantity. | | jrmac (10), South Carolina | | July 5, 2010 Outstanding service and selection. The guys that run this department are among the best beer guys anywhere. | | thagr81_us (24), Gaffney, South Carolina | | May 4, 2010 I was pleasantly surprised the first time that I wandered into their beer section. With it being a grocery store, I did not expect much. However, as others have said, they have a pretty decent selection with a few hard-to-finds every once in awhile. I try to make my way back at least once a month to check them out. Service is usually pretty good as well. | | branimal9 (14), Greenville, South Carolina | | April 21, 2010 One of the four beer retail destinations in Greenville, the others being State Spirits, Total Wine & Green’s. Good selection here, both cold & room temp. They get some hard-to-find items every once in awhile. Scored some COAST Blackbeerd here a little while back. Singles are offered, but they are cold (not the best if you need to travel) and they only offer a very limited selection of what they actually sell in 6 packs. That said, for a grocery store, they do a very good job on the beer side of things. | | fiver29 (48), Cleveland, Ohio | | June 27, 2009 I stopped in this past week and picked up some brews. They have a singles section broken down by US and international. There isn’t a huge selection, but what they do have is pretty good. One of the beers I picked up was a Moylans Hopsickle. I had it last night and it was fresh. So I think they may rotate what they get pretty well. This was just what I thought it was. |
