I assume it’s because of arcane NS liquor laws, but it totally sucks that you can’t buy a tasty beer from their coolers and drink it on site. You are stuck with whatever they have on tap (probably 6-7 taps) and little 4 oz tasters in a plastic cup.

Located at the end of the boardwalk, beside the Farmers Market, this brewery has a very open and welcoming appearance with handsome signage. Inside it really is just a large tasting room, albeit nicely arranged. Tons of swag for sale. A glass cooler houses everything they brew, including a few selections not circulated in stores, as well as house made sodas (which our kids loved). Excellent service. No food.

Happen to just stubble upon this brewery when just walking along the pier from our hotel, had no actual plans to go here, but the brewery it self was in a really nice location. When you walk in you can see the brewing tanks and things the brewery is very modern in appearance, really nice in side, They had a big cooler to the left of the door with a large selection of garrison brews. There was a man with 5 tap handles I believe serving beer. Good stop, worth a stop if your in the area

This is the best brewery I have yet to go to. The serving staff were fantastic.

Not the best brews made in Halifax but you’ve got to give them credit for always pushing the envelope and trying new things. Jalapeno beer anyone? (good for cooking with, not so much for drinking)

This was right behind the hotel where I stayed (Westin) so that was a good surprise. The store and tasting room area is big, all beer sample are 1$ for a 4 on, 2$ for a bigger sample. Loads of Garrison paraphenelia for sale. Unfortunatelly, they didnt have any of their big hitters. Only 5 offerings available.

Visited midday on a Monday in November, this big open factory had a bunch of kegs and typical brewing paraphernalia on display, along with a store in the corner for hoodies and hats and t-shirts with their logo, but in the middle is a bar where they serve samples for a buck-a-piece, 4 to choose from. Fridges along the back wall had some good finds for us, i.e. not available in the local beer stores. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

The Garrison Brewery is the best place to go to sample all Garrison ales. They have all of them available either on tap or from bottle. You can sample these in a nice modern environment in the brewery. The brewery has a bar and a patio outside, which is great in summer months. On the location is also a shop where you can pick up most bottles. The brewery holds events and gatherings. You can hire the brewery for functions and can do brewery tours.
