| Alain (10), , | | January 5, 2012 Little shop with a nice range of beers, especially lambic and geuze.
Very difficult to find parking place. Finded BVS beer shop better (larger range, better parking). | | sebletitje (200), Enghien, Belgium | | February 25, 2011 Small shop in Halle with the always difficult task of finding a parking spot.
Shop carries mostly local beers from the Pajottenland, mostly Flemish depsite the proximity to Wallonia.
They carry many gueuzes ranging from Boon, Cantillon, 3F, Timmermans, Hansens, etc.
Nice and clean with a friendly shopkeeper. Beers are more than reasonably priced.
They also have a wide range of local produces and other small liquors that are worth checking out if you want to sample more of the local food cutlure. | morangochris (5), Budapest, Hungary does not count - explanation | | January 28, 2011 This is certain the best place for buying the local stuff. And the local stuff are the Lambics, Geuzes and Kriek. All the breweries are found here: Boon, Cantillion, 3 Fonteinen, Oud Beersel etc. | | Jerre (67), Waregem, Belgium | | August 16, 2008 Visited 14/6/08. Good beers on sale with, special focus on lambics. Also other Belgian ales (hard tio find).
Worth a visit if you are in the area !
Good. | | downender (196), Bristol, England | | May 18, 2008 Visited 26/4/08. 75-100 beers on sale with, as mentioned below, a serious focus on lambics. Had plenty of good examples from Drie Fonteinen, Oud Beersel, de Cam and Boon amongst others, without stretching as far as the most rare bottles - 3F Doesjel was as interesting as it got. Also had a fair range of other Belgian ales including most of the de Zenne range. Worth a visit if you are in the area. | | jbrus (133), Delft, Netherlands | | August 31, 2007 Nice shop if you like lambic. They have most of all the regular stuff and some specials. I bought 3 Fonteinen Hommage and Doesel. But didn’t see any Selection. | | Glouglouburp (259), Montreal, Quebec | | April 17, 2007 [ Updated August 17, 2007 ] Little store with a limited and unusual selection. There are a few common lambics and some classic Belgians but there are also some obscure Belgian micros that I haven’t seen anywhere else. I tried a few of them and unfortunately none of them were any good. So I guess the only reason to visit the shop is to buy a bottle of Belle-Vue Selection Lambic 1999. There were still plenty of them when I was there sept 2006. As far as I know it’s the only place to find it. Little tourist note: Halle is a really cute little city to visit. You can rent a bike in Brussel and get to Halle in less than 1.5 hour. Not only is Halle really cool but the bike ride along the river/canal is also very pleasant. I even did a little detour on my way there and stopped by 3 Fonteinen in Beersel. Very nice way to visit Belgium countryside and please the beer geek in you. Recommended. | | kepano (24), Meudon, France | | August 14, 2006 A nice little shop, worth a stop if you’re in the area, if only for the Belle-Vue Séléction 1999. They also carry most of the basic offerings from Drie Fonteinen, Girardin, Boon, Lindemans (Cuvée René) and Hanssens as well as a few random non lambic-based beers. The store is not dedicated to beer, rather they sell traditional foods and drinks made locally. The prices are quite cheap and the staff friendly though they seemed busy when I visited. | | pivnizub (379), Bochum, Porúří, Germany | | June 28, 2006 Fine selection of lambics ! Some nice rarities (Mort Subite Oude Gueuze, Belle Vue Selection Lambic (!)) available; it’s a must and worth a journey for every fan of fine lambics and gueuzes. | | mds (100), Toronto, Ontario | | May 11, 2006 [ Updated May 12, 2006 ] The ambiance here isn’t all that great considering it’s just a small shop off of a main strip in Halle. Seems like a nice little town with tonnes of people milling about (students and others) though I guess that’s because I went through right at around 16h30. Beer selection was very good - lots of lambics that I haven’t seen elsewhere and the prices were the best I have seen anywhere. Belle-vue Selection Lambic (750mL) for only 9.50E from 1999! Also plenty of Girardin and Drie Fonteinen for under 2.50E and sometimes even under 2E. Other Belgian micros are represented as well but the catalogue is by no means extensive. They also had some other products like wines and some food. I’d recommend this place anytime. |
