| tiong (26), Espoo, Finland | | April 11, 2012 A nice and cozy, but quite small place located near central Helsinki. Can be reached easily with a tram or numerous buses passing by. Bottle selection is quite similar to places in central Helsinki, but is more focused on quality than quantity. Luckily they have a few rotating taps focused on Scandinavian and Finnish microbreweries. Prices are quite high, but slightly cheaper compared to central Helsinki. Overall a place worth visiting, especially if they have something interesting on tap or themed weeks going on. | frankpoirot (1), , does not count - explanation | | February 1, 2012 Fri 3rd Feb

WELKOM ! | | rosenbergh (275), Helsinki, Finland | | October 29, 2011 Quite poor for a oluttupa (Bierstube). Staff doesn’t seem to know anything about beers (except Frank) they’re selling. Service is friendly though. Selection is not bad and pricing is quite reasonable. But there’s still long way to go to be serious pub. | | FatPhil (222), Tallinn, Estonia | | September 21, 2011 On a quiet sunday lunchtime, this place is absolutely idyllic. Just head up Mannerheimintie on the number 4 tram. Quite small, and pretty cosy, and a lovely traditional brick interior. Large terrace, which catches a fair bit of sun too (and some smokers, alas). Best selection of Stadin Panimo beers I’ve seen anywhere - 7 bottles, I think. 60 other quality beers, no crap. Prices similar to other Helsinki joints. Staff friendly, and knowledgable about beer (and to an ex-Helsinki resident, quite familiar from other bars, which is nice). 25 select whiskies too. Good one, Frank, sorry we didn’t cross paths! |
