| cpetrone84 (34), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | January 12, 2012 This place was small, the guy was friendly in a fake kind of way. The selection was poor, had beers but wouldn’t sell them to us. Dark lit, kind of desperate feel to it. A touch depressing...maybe more than a touch. | | MrChopin (89), Baltimore, Maryland | | November 6, 2011 Small spot stopped late at night, may have been a cause of non-nonplussed reactions. Dead interior, gruff service though knowledgeable and chatty. Mediocre selection of lambic, others random and spotty, taps rather weak. Unflattering in every way. Oh yeah, and you have to play games to get the rare Cantiloons. We lost that game. | | swoopjones (190), Buffalo, New York | | October 18, 2011 decent spot in what seemed to be in a residential building. Service was competent, not exactly friendly & then warmed up considerably once we started talking shop with a local finnish beer judge. Decent selection, no special Cantillion though> Well worth the walk over from city center | | skimoore (11), Paris, France | | August 17, 2011 I managed to get what I was told was the last bottle of the Cantillon Baie d’Argousier...wonderful lambic and also tried a great local Finnish IPA. Service can be a bit cold but the regulars are super friendly. Very very impressive selection, worth the trek. | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | July 13, 2011 Almost empty on a Sunday evening. This place changed hands a few weeks back. New owners are now pursuing mostly German beers, although a couple of local brews were on tap when we visited. They would not serve us thier Cantillon lambic. This place definitley has "lived in" look with lots of character. Bar staff was very friendly. | | kermis (52), The Hague, Netherlands | | April 24, 2011 Small place in a residential area on the outskirts of the city center. Very locally and in need of dusting. Selection was pretty dull when we were there, with very few Finnish beers - mostly German and Belgian bottles. | | Tim Webb (106), Cambridge, England | | April 2, 2011 Small but famous pioneering pub on the outskirts of the centre staying loyal to a range of Finnish microbreweries at the same time as serving a lot of better beers from elsewhere including their own Cantillon lambic made with sea buckthorn fruit. | jorma.hintikka (1), does not count - explanation | | November 4, 2010 The best beer place in Helsinki ! | | SirLimpsalot (23), , Sweden | | November 2, 2010 Weird and very dust pub in the most unlikley place out side the city center.
Don’t let the bar man scare you and you will have a lovley time whilst drinking one (or perhaps all three) rare Cantillons brewed especially for One Pint Pub. | | gyllenbock (90), Stockholm, Sweden | | July 14, 2010 Visited in July 2010.
A great, small place with plenty of atmosphere and style of its own. Not that hard to find, about 20-25 minutes walk from central Helsinki. Friendly locals and a real character behind the counter. His English was not so good but it did not matter in my case because I can talk finish.
Cantillon Baie d’Argousier was 15 Euros, vintage 2003. A great beer! It is amazing that a place like this can have a variety of unique beers from Cantillon.
I will visit One Pint Pub again! |
