Imagine a brewery takes 1/6 of its brewing floor and builds a tasting room...you have Troegs. Long bar, communal beer tables that all butt up against the production brewery. No TV’s, but you can watch people working in the brewery. Buy beers at the bar, order food at the snack bar. Efficient system, all under fluorescent light. General Store is a tourist trap with $6 glasses and $20 t-shirts. No big bottles available, but you can buy 12 oz. bottles by the case. Brewery tours by reservation or self guided. If you family drags you to Hershey this summer, drag them to Troegs.

Brand new location next to the Hershey factory and Hershey amusement park. Massive interior space, huge gift shop, a giant bar with all of their main beers on tap plus some random Scratch beers on tap and Splinter Gold bottles for on site consumption only. Ample parking. Service for beer was extremely quick and efficient. Flights are properly marked on a spill proof tray. Lots of attention to detail here. There is a snack bar separate from your bar tab to get some small plates or real meals. They have some delicious pork belly and poached egg, oyster poboys, and more. Impressive menu. Prices are very cheap for what was given. My only qualm was that there were not more one-offs on tap.

I was in Hershey for my niece’s District Title Basketball game. Facility is right modern, cavernous and loud for the crowd size. Food was very good, service too.. Selection was pretty weak. no scratch beers.

Guided tour was interesting and sampling of three beers was adequate. The tasting room/restaurant was modern and clean but too much like a cafeteria. All staff were friendly and helpful. Selections at bar were minimal. they being out of two of the offerings. Food was tasty and moderately priced.

The new brewery is very impressive, like the tasting room. Troegs is one of my favorite beers and they have one of the best beer T-shirt selection in the US. For sure the No.1 landmark in Harrisburg/Hershey.

Did the paid tour with samples. Tour guide was very informative and entertaining. The brewery is crazy well laid out for touring, both self and guided. Very impressed. In the large bar/food area ordered the giant pretzel (do it!) and some pints. Very great experience, wish we had this here. Keep it up Troegs!

I figure since I have visited this place about 100 times since they opened over a year ago it might be time to sit down and actually write up a review. The atmosphere is hard to describe. The space is huge with people sitting all over the place. The large bar area and the big beer hall table seem to be peoples favorites, with the outside seating area getting a lot of use in the warmer weather months. The walking tour is a really cool feature and the general store sells any and all things Troegs for people looking for some swag or to buy some beer to go, just be aware that the general store closes before the bar area does. The service has been hit or miss since the day they opened. I used to have to wait a LONG time to get even the simplest of service but I have to say it has definitely improved over the last few months. The wait times have become shorter and they have finally hired some people who know what they are talking about... The quality is top notch. The beers are, for the most part, world class and the food is all made with the highest grade ingredients. They use all the correct glasses and they have a counter pressure filler for growlers, however they will still fill screw tops off the taps. The selection is what you would expect for a brewery. They have their six flagship, year round beers on at all times to go along with a few of the seasonal offerings. They also usually have at least one scratch beer on, sometimes up to 3-4 depending on how fast they are selling / making them. The snack bar is a new thing they have been doing for the last six or so months. They offer quite a few different things to eat, enough to satisfy most picky diners. I have tried about 2/3 of the menu now, altho it is ever changing, and it is all excellent. A few of my current favorites would include the large brewers pretzel, the pork confit tacos and the crispy pork belly. The prices at the snack bar are a little high for my taste but most of the items are worth it. Overall a HUGE upgrade over the old harrisburg location and a welcome addition to the area. I look forward to visiting the brewery for many years to come.

This was my second visit to the new site and the first since they added food. There is nothing to not like about this place. The beer is top notch. The self guided brewery tour is great. Virtually, the whole brewery is behind huge glass windows. The food just blew us away. This is not your standard Central PA brewpub grub. There is also a huge gift shop filled with temptations. They even had cases of some Scratch beers. A great place for either a nice meal with great beer or a quick stop on the way to the Park.

I finally got to the new brewery. I do prefer the ambience of the old location but this place is very, very nice. Very large and open. The main space features a huge bar, huge seating area featuring the longest table I have ever seen and a huge patio area. They could fit hundreds in here quite comfortably. the brewing equipment is behind the bar. There is a food menu and it looked to be stocked with higher end items, but I had just eaten so I didn’t partake. All of the staff were really friendly, including both bartenders and the guy in the shop (which is separate and includes swag and beer to go). 12 beers were on tap, and I had 3 four ounce samples of Scratch beers for 5 bucks. There is a walk through self-guided brewery tour which looked pretty basic, so I didn’t partake, but it does look like it would be good for people new to breweries. In fact, this whole place is. Plenty of parking and located RIGHT next to Hershey Park in case getting hammered and the riding roller coasters is your thing. Overall, well worth the visit. My review for the old location is below.

NOTE: This review is for the old location in Harrisburg. Big commercial brewery with a tap room attached. The large tap room had a nice ambience, as did the well appointed gift shop attached. Samplers are available as well as growler flls, pints and bottles to go. Prices are a bit expensive though cases can be had for a nice discount. Nice people. Decent parking. And most importantly, the beer is tasty. Definitely a nice stop. Score 5/7/13/NA/5/16
