30 reviews for Liquor Stop
| jerc (141), Toronto, Ontario | | October 1, 2009 Pros: They had 3F that we had not seen elsewhere. Couple of other cool finds but thats about it. The selection is decent but if you are not looking to buy whole six packs it cuts the selection but a LOT. Prices seemed average to high depending.
Cons: No splitting six packs. Store itself is kind of ghetto, but whatever. Staff was okay.
Worth the stop for the 3F that we could not get at the brewery alone, but we bought a lot more at Binny’s in Chicago. | BigJoe7231 (7), Schererville, Indiana does not count - explanation | | August 26, 2008 This place is definitely one of the best liquor stores in NW Indiana, if micro brew and craft beer is your thing. And considering I live about 15 minutes away from this place...I am truly blessed! :)
Oh, to the ones complaining that it’s closed on Sundays: IT’S INDIANA LAW! | | msante79 (72), Orland Hills, Illinois | | August 6, 2008 Stopped in today pick up some Stone IPA. Only one guy working who I assume was the owner and her was very nice. Nice micro section with Stone, Thirsty Dog, Dark Horse and Three Floyds standing out. Nothing rare but did have some nice brews that aren’t available in Illinois. They did have Ølfabrikken Porter which I did not expect to find. There 3F prices were much lower then Binny’s in Illinois which probably has to do with the fact that they are a 10 minutes from the brewery. Will be back to stock up on Stone and other brews not available in Illinois | | esjaygee (103), Oak Creek, Wisconsin | | July 13, 2008 Nice selection of Indiana micros, six pack and bombers. Belgian selection is decent. Build you own sixer in the front of the store has some offerings, but nothing great. It would have been nice to take home a mixed six of the Indiana stuff, but it wasn’t offered. Prices were high, I left empty handed. I much preferred Torrance liquors down the road. Service was ok and the store was clean. | | AmEricanbrew (77), Doing Rogue, Louisiana | | May 6, 2008 Good selection of Indiana micros here. Decent big bottle selection including a few Bluegrass 750’s. Import selection will get you by, but nothing exotic. Won’t break six packs, which is a fundamental flaw that separates all the wanna be’s from the real beer stores. | | MoDog (22), Griffith, Indiana | | January 27, 2008 Always a decent to nice selection of micros and imports. They always have everything bottled from FFF as well as a large offering from Bell’s, DFH, Stone, Dark Horse as well as some nice beer from Belgium and Germany. Prices generally run on the high side, but you may get a freebee or two if you spend enough. If you are a local, this is probably your goto shop. If you are from out of town and visiting FFF, it is worth a stop. | JLAudio (9), Crestwood, Illinois does not count - explanation | | November 16, 2007 Absolutely have to rate this one top notch just because its the absolute closest liquor store that carries my beloved Stone products...as well as other numerous wisconsin, indiana, ohio, etc. brews. They are higher priced, definitely, but what can I do...I live in Illinois and want beers I cannot get here yet. The selection is very good, the service is good, friendly, and its right off the highway. | | chicagodri (36), Chicago, Illinois | | November 10, 2007 I am a big fan of this place. Living in Chicago it has a lot of the beers I don’t have access to (Bell’s, Stone, etc.) The prices are a little on the high side, but what are you going to do. If you buy a lot of beer or the guy recognizes you, usually he will throw in a couple of bottles...10 for service! Very knowledgeable as well. I usually hit up this place whenever I go to FFF. | dj6225 (2), Milwaukee, Wisconsin does not count - explanation | | September 9, 2007 I drove down from Milwaukee to visit Three Floyds and Flossmoor, and stopped by The Liquor Stop because of its proximity to FFF. I was pleasantly surprised... Stone’s not in Wisconsin yet, so I bought one of everything they had there (which was a great selection, including: Ruination, Oaked Arrogant Bastard, Smoked Porter, etc.), and picked up a few six packs and bombers from other brewers that aren’t available in Wisconsin, like Thirsty Dog and Hoppin’ Frog. Then, because I had bought quite a bit, the owner threw in a free Mishawaka Hop Head single for me (that’s why service gets a 9). Singles selection is almost non-existent, but could be unbelievable if they broke down all their six packs, but since I was passing through, I didn’t mind splurging a bit and getting full sixers. Anyway, excellent place overall, definitely stop in if your anywhere near FFF, especially if you’re not from around that area. | | Kodos (10), | | August 13, 2007 Great selection for the area. Safe. Manager and most staff seem pretty knowledgeable and accomodating to orders. |
