| Malty_MacHops (15), Eastanollee, Georgia | | November 20, 2011 A great place to buy beer. There is a restaurant right across the courtyard called One Hot Mama’s, which has great food, but not much in the beer department. So I bought a couple of pints off the draft at the Lodge and brought them over to go with the burgers. I’ll go back to buy a few bottles before I leave the island. Great place the barmaid knew the beers well including all about the local beer culture, which is very small. The only place around for buying growlers. | | Nate (246), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | June 21, 2011 Right next to One Hot Mama’s BBQ and the Hilton Head Brewing Co. This is a bar for drinking beer and that’s about it. Decent decor, lots of hunting lodge theme. Service was mediocre, music was too loud, and there’s no food served. However, the beer list was pretty impressive and the prices weren’t too bad. One nice thing is that they did sell 5 oz. pours, so if you were in the mood to sample a bunch, it wouldn’t be too expensive. Best thing to do would be to have dinner at Hilton Head Brewing (great food, mediocre beers) or One Hot Mama’s (good BBQ), then head to The Lodge for lots and lots of good draught beer. | | ScottButler (12), | | August 27, 2010 In the middle of some bars/restaurants - very good beer list - food is limited but excellent cheeseburgers. Got a really good crowd in around 10:00 pm. Plenty of tv’s for sports, etc... | lambchop (6), South Carolina does not count - explanation | | August 21, 2010 I stumbled upon this place on accident and was very pleasantly suprised. Apparently it used to be a martini bar but just recently switched to a growler bar. They have around 35 different beers on tap with an excellent variety. All pints were pretty much $5-7 if I remember correctly (been a few weeks) and the growler fills were $15-20. The only food they have is hamburgers/hot dogs/fries type stuff however they were very tasty and very cheap.
The bartender at the time, Chris, was very knowledgable and was very prompt. The place also had two billiards tables that were in ok shape - better than most bars. Overall I was very pleased to have found this place and will defintely be returning. |
