Commonly referred to as the "Hoboken Beer Garden," this is a spacious beer hall with two indoor seating areas and one outdoor area. Good selection of German beers, as well as a few taps pouring American beers. The place was packed on a Saturday night and a band was playing, but we still had relatively little trouble getting beers and finding a seat. The clientele on weekends is very "Jersey" but, hey, it’s in Hoboken, what do you expect. Great place that I am sure to revisit.

Came here with my wife, Max, and Jess on a Friday night. We got seating at the large tables that easily accommodate multiple groups. The place is enormous, had a huge crowd, and still felt spacious and open. Décor is nice, ambience is pretty relaxed as well. The staff floats through and even though we had a set server, numerous other staff checked up on us, cleared plates, brought plates, etc. Prices were reasonable enough, half liter pours at $7, liter pours at $13, and all of the beers were priced equally (which is nice when splitting a tab up). We were part of a large party, but they had no problem splitting our check for us. I look forward to coming in sometime during the summer when the outside is all opened up as well.

a nice rustic old factory kept somewhat genuine and classically added to. Genuine Beirgarden feel to the place it is quite popular around here indeed. Staff is service oriented that’s for sure and they have a good selection of bottles. About 20 brews on tap mostly local, German AND Czech types that are quite decent. Good food served up well and good value. This place has what it takes to make a place for itself in the NY metro area. Keep an eye out!

I just added this place (as it only opened about a week ago), so I might as well through up the first rating as well...
Hoboken sorely needed another place with a decent beer selection, and this place does come through. I wouldn’t want to compare it to its Jersey City bretheren Zeppelin, because that place is so giant that they have a big advantange space-wise, but in terms of selection they seem to be comparable and maybe even a little better. It isn’t nearly as large though. They have 2 rooms inside, one is rather large with a long bar and a bunch of bench style tables, while the other is quite a bit smaller with some more tables and the food area. The outside is also not huge, but it is rather large for Hoboken. The beers are pretty interesting as well. The have your typical German-fare (as they should), but they have some other interesting offerings as well from both inside and outside of Deutschland. The beer menus are available on the website, and they have plenty of non-German style beers (mostly in bottle) for those who are interested. The food was typical german fare, I had a decent wurst, and a really good pretzel. The service was fairly slow, but I’ll give them a break as it was quite crowded when we went, and they are just getting their feet wet. Mediocre service and big crowds are too be expected opening week, but I expect that too cool down, especially as the weather does the same. I really enjoyed my first experince here, and even though it is quite a treck from the main drag, I’ll no doubt return soon.
