| BREWMUSKCLES (74), New Jersey | | March 20, 2012 bad parking, decent, pricing decent service no receipts unless you ask. they just started having a decent bottle selection. sometime specials. | | claspada (10), Hoboken, New Jersey | | August 11, 2010 Not a great selection of craft beer. I mean if I had to choose something I wouldnt be dissapointed, but not a place to seek out unless your out of options. Head to the Jersey City Buy Rite a few min down the road for a great selection. Freshness dates are also a huge question here as only the wine seems to turnover frequently. | | ben4321 (117), Hoboken, New Jersey | | April 26, 2010 This store seemed a bit weak to me. An OK selection I guess, but I just wish they had a bigger selection of American micros. Hoboken seems to be pretty much a beer wasteland. Too bad, because I’d like to be able to get some decent beer in my own neighborhood. | | Dfonorow (37), Hoboken, New Jersey | | February 1, 2010 The guy who runs this place is very helpful for when your not quite sure what to get, very knowledgeable of the craft beers. They stock up every week or so with a new selection although it goes pretty quickly, they also have some nice seasonals every once in a while. | | yobdoog (94), Woodridge NY, New York | | February 6, 2008 Descent place to jsut get something in a jiffy but not a place I love to go to. Staff generally doesn’t help with the beer selectin jsu the wine. For Washington St. in Hoboken it is descent and because a lot of places in Hoboken are BYOB this place is key for beer or wine. One great thing is option to get different beers as singles to bring to your meal as a mix six or get a bomber or 50 of something descent. | jlf278 (9), Hoboken, New Jersey does not count - explanation | | October 2, 2007 Although I live closer to their small 126 Washington St., Hoboken location, I stop by the main Sparrow Wine once a month or so. The store is huge, and while only one wall (~12 built-in refrigerated units) is stocked with beer, they always seem to cover most of my favorites. There are also plenty of new seasonals and some rotating selections that keep things interesting (and worth a stop).
The prices are competitive, certainly compared to Manhattan. About half of selection is singles 12oz/750ml and half six-packs, but you are free to mix the six-packs. You’ll find Chimay, Flying Dog, DFH, Unibroe, Troegs, Victory, Samuel Smith’s, Fuller’s, De Dolle, Paulaner, Aecht, Spaten, Schneider, Brooklyn, etc. and plenty others.
The wine selection is vast and impressive, with some great bargains. Delivery in Hoboken is very cheap and same-day. They also deliver to surrounding areas. Entire store is brightliy lit, clean and spacious. Shopping carts and baskets on-hand. |
