The oldest house in town is dressed up inside as a modern pub-cum-restaurant and on the Sunday evening we visited had a large, local audience. Servings looked to be big and popular, but we didn’t eat. Very pleasant atmosphere. Serves their own beer (of course) and also offers various Belgians, including some trappists. Very friendly staff, who was happy to put together bottle sets for us even though they weren’t done labelling :)

Nice tap selection of house beers, decent but small menu, worth the stop to or from Brussels if your looking for decent beers and a bite to eat.

Visited too late for Good Beer Guide Belgium 2009. Hoegaarden’s better brewery should move 100 metres down the way later this year but even when it does its tap will remain this ancient-and-modern cornerhouse. Two beers thus far, both a cut above most other Belgian brewpubs. Enough in the way of bar snacks to keep the interest. Great courtyard in summer.
