blindjack99 (1), cranford, New Jersey does not count - explanation | | October 5, 2009 really nice place i’m planing to stop back their again when i’m back in muchigan. | | Sammy (273), Toronto, Ontario | | August 6, 2009 An attractive bright little restaurant, you come here for the beer. Just about everything is bottled, it is still nice to try new stuff, and fresh on tap. Service about average. Not a huge selection, no cask today, nor guest taps. A small patio outside. Some of their regular bottles on sale. | | mages64 (10), | | July 23, 2009 One of the best breweries in the region. It is always fun to pop in and try the seasonal brews as well as their classic favorites. If you are in the area, it isn’t to be missed! | | jeffmw (14), | | July 17, 2009 Very cool building and place. We sat upstairs but there was still a crowd. The beer was what we expected and had had before, but their spirits were wonderful! Try the cucumber vodka! Servers were very cool and everyone was very friendly. Good menu too. Definitely a fun stop! | | BeerBaron617 (19), Novi, Michigan | | July 14, 2009 I’ve been to a few brewpubs in SE Michigan, but clearly they know what they’re doing over on the west side. It was awesome. Holland is a really cute little town, right off of lake Michigan. The food was great, the beer was better, and the waitress was cute and friendly. Picked up a few high gravity glasses, which were cheap, yet very high quality, and all of the staff seemed knowledgeable and really nice. I will definitely make this at least a once a year trip, if not 3 or 4 times. Cheers! | | greco (14), Zeeland, Michigan | | May 6, 2009 New Holland’s brew pub is a great place to hang out. They have 5 distinct areas to eat, drink and be merry, each with a different feel to it. The food is usually good. They are known for the D-White Pizza, Strom Bomb, Tree-Hugger Sandwich among others which are all tasty.
New Holland always has a broad selection (I’m guessing 15-20) of their own brews on tap from lagers to imperial stout. I’m a big fan of most of their high gravity series: Night Tripper Imperial Stout and Existential Imperial IPA stand out as well as Dragon’s Milk. They always seem to have more than just their mainstays that reflect the time of the year. | | MikeF (95), Cleveland, Ohio | | May 3, 2009 Very clean light wood theme. Nice large bar with plenty of TVs. A large window provides a view of on site brewing equipment. There is a nice gift shop just as you enter. They offered a number of their usual great beers as well as a few on site only beers. The food was good and the menu has something for everyone. Located in a quaint downtown. Worth the stop. | | esjaygee (103), Oak Creek, Wisconsin | | March 19, 2009 Excellent brewpub with excellent beer. They offer two types of samplers – the standard faire – and a build your own where you can pick the seasonals and high gravity series if that’s your thing. And since that’s my thing, there were many choices to choose from, including three special release beers and a half dozen or so high gravity options and the poet on cask. The bartender gave me a few samples too and answered all my questions. When I asked about the library beers, he ran and got somebody to let me know what was up with that. Plenty of New Holland garb was on sale from their beers, though no Night Tripper wear – which is what my wife wanted. The food was really good too and the waitress was more than adequate. | | Slabjacker (34), | | August 4, 2008 This place was packed on a Saturday afternoon! Who would’ve thought you’d have a 25 min+ wait for lunch! Turns out a baby shower and a wedding party was taking up half of their space (still trying to figure out how a brewery is a good place for a mother-to-be...). Opted for a pint at the bar and ended up ordering and eating there. Our meal was almost done when our pager rumbled to tell us the table was ready. The service was solid as was the food. Try the Acropolis pizza - very tasty! I sampled the Nutty Dutchman brown ale and it was very good. Lots of merchandise to purchase - very business-oriented. I’d say it does well as both a restaurant and brewpub. Certainly worth a look for a meal and a pint. | mrm1021 (4), Naperville, Illinois does not count - explanation | | July 26, 2008 Visited the brew pub 7/21 just after the lunch rush good selection of beers (tried the standard sampler but was interested in the High Gravity sampler) food good, especially for a veggie eating teenager in tow. Prices are a bit high, but food was very good. Service was ok. Overall, a very good Brewpub and bought a few high gravity beers to try out. |
