kevobutler (6), does not count - explanation | | June 11, 2011 The selection was pretty good for Hawaii. The owner was very friendly and very helpful. The prices were way too high, I understand that Hawaii is out there in the middle of the ocean, but six packs of Kona beers were like 11 bucks and I pay 8 dollars for them in florida!?!?
Overall, I liked the place and liked the owner but would probably try to find somewhere a little cheaper next time | | KyotoLefty (286), Kyoto, Japan | | April 5, 2011 Best beer store in Honolulu, I suppose. Owner was friendly and helpful. Selection was not stellar, but I found lots of stuff I wanted. Imports are a bit expensive; domestics were better value. He’s doing a good job. | | savnac (155), Anchorage, Alaska | | April 5, 2011 Small place in a good location downtown. Service was decent. Selection was pretty good, lots of imports, micros and local beer. Prices were very high, I found the same beers for around 75% cheaper elsewhere on the Island. Bottom line, a great place to get some good beer if your staying downtown and have no other choice. Otherwise save some money and drive to Tamura’s. | greenhorn1 (6), Mission Viejo, California does not count - explanation | | April 12, 2010 So maybe I am just spoiled living in the Northwest and in California where beer shops are like heaven. I completely understand this is an island thousands of miles from anything, so I must give props for trying to get in some good beer to the island. I was dissapointed on the limited selection of beers on hand and prices were high (but then again, everything is expensive in Hawaii). So yes, I am somewhat talking in circles here, but I have to rate what it was. Would I go back? Of course, they at least had something better than Bud Lite. | | solsticebrew (14), | | June 29, 2009 This place is great and has the best selection of micros, nanos, wine, spirits, and cigars. Totally recommend | | auderale (58), Bitburg, Germany | | January 24, 2009 Found this place while shopping at the Ward Warehouse. Pretty decent selection for being so small. A lot of wine too. I was hoping they had more local stuff, but was able to get all they had. Very friendly staff. I’d definitely stop back if I had the chance. Pricey, but that’s expected in the location they are in. | | elihapa (65), Honolulu, Hawaii | | June 11, 2008 I stumbled into this place passing by Ward Warehouse. Beer is located in the read, with a nice selection of single beers. They have some nice Belgians that I have yet to try, and some fun brews from the west coast such as Deschutes Hop Henge. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Best place I have found yet in Honolulu. | castironchef (8), Pearl City, Hawaii does not count - explanation | | April 23, 2008 Nice selection of lesser-known beers. Too many abbey-style ales for my liking. Still no Stone Brewing Co. What a shame. Kinda pricey, and parking sucks on the weekend. No sales or specials on craft beers that I know of :( | | Marc (13), Yokosuka, Japan | | January 26, 2008 A chance find while on my way to Boarders Books. Not a whole lot of floor space due to how crammed with stuff this place is. Fair selection of domestic and imports. Great Rum selection as well. the ladie behind the counter was very helpfull in describing the local products and giving recomendations. | | BrewDad (359), Olympia, Washington | | January 23, 2008 [ Updated October 1, 2008 ] This was a great place. With about 150-200 single beers at any given time they have all you can get for Hawaii. Lots of interesting Aussie, and Belgian beers. They also had beers from other countries that I have never seen before. Liquor, cigars and wine are also available so if you need some party supplies they have it. Great atmosphere and they just are as friendly as can be. I will go back every time when I visit the Islands. If you’re looking for a beer from that special place like Tasmania they will have it. They will also have lots of Hawaiian beers that you will never find anywhere else. |
