Large place owned by a beer enthusiast who is unfortunately tied to the Kirner brewery, which limits what he can sell. If it’s open, head around back to the large biergarten with a view of the hills, or the interior cozy bar. That one was clsoed on the Sunday that we visited, so we had a nice meal in the front, which is a classier restaurant.

Only real beer garden in town. Full range of Kirner beers and 3 or four others. Food is great and so is the staff. Prices are veri cheap. There is a second nicer bar in the back of the courtyard.

The Handelshof is a great local place for food and drink. The service is among the best in this part of Germany. They have a beergarden in the summertime and have great Hunsruck (local) food. Including grilled Spiesbraten made on an open grill in the bar. They have a full selection of Kirner beers and Erdinger Dark and Crystal Weizens. They have rooms as well if you need a place to stay. Great place for visiting the Gem mines or many Celtic Ruins.
