A-1 Liquor Store seems like the typical cheap liquor store next to a gas station in a dumpy strip mall but offers a lot of surprises. I found a few different Three Floyds, some Boulevard, some unexpected European beers, and some decent locals. They have a big selection of out-of-season 6 and 12 packs and cases for super cheap. This obviously isn’t smart for lighter beers and IPAs but there were plenty of big winter beers that last a while still on shelves with massive markdowns. Some marked down cases were pretty fresh, too. I’m not sure how these guys get away with prices so low on some of this stuff. The coolers offer a nice selection of 6-packs and a couple doors open to nothing but craft singles. Way more than I expected for this hole in the wall joint. It still caters to the casual drinker, but plenty of surprises to be found here.
