| john_hively (10), Fisher, Indiana | | July 2, 2011 For a sit down restaurant, this place has an amazing selection. Whoever thought of putting great beer in a BW3’s was a genius. Usually pretty busy but a good centralized place to eat downtown. Great selection of beers on tap and awesome chicken wings. | schlitz (3), Indiana does not count - explanation | | April 25, 2011 Food is good, but pass on visiting for the beer unless you heart commercial domestics and imports. | Justibone (9), Indianapolis, does not count - explanation | | January 10, 2011 It’s a wings bar. Sometimes the service is good, sometimes not so good. Going when it’s slow means you will get good service. Don’t ask for a good beer, or anything bottled, if it’s busy -- you will get dirty looks. The food is just basically wings, better than Hooters but nothing to write home about. The prices aren’t very good, though. Every now and then news teams will go into BW3’s to get "man on the street" interviews, especially for stories about the Pacers. Overall not a terrible place to hang out, but the beer is better elsewhere and the food is, too. | | tjthresh (83), Greenfield, Indiana | | May 29, 2009 The new bar manager (Sam?) is doing a great job of keeping beer geek friendly stuff on tap. Other than that, its BDubs. | | Ibrew2or3 (248), Phoenix, Arizona | | May 18, 2007 Worn in looking place with tables and bar seating. I took a seat at the bar with tish where there were three tap stands with about eight to ten taps per and also two beer engines. Lots of really nice beers on tap including Stone’s ABA, Oaked ABA and IPA. There were lots of cool Midwest brews like Two Brothers Hop Juice on cask. Yum. Very nice bottle selection like some stuff from Stone like Vertical 06 and 8th Anniv. We were told the 8th they just got in. I wonder how that works for a beer that has been retired for a while? Didn’t matter. It was tasty. One drawback to the place was all the heavy smoking going on. Lots of chain smokers or something that made it impossible to get a read on the beer’s aroma. Food was alright. The sandwich I tried was very spicy. | | jcr (14), Jasper, Indiana | | February 28, 2007 This place obviously likes beer. Excellent tap selection — Hopslam, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, GI Matilda, Stone Oaked Arrogant Bastard, Delierium Noel, Gouden Carolus Noel and more. Impressive bottle selection as well. The bartenders seemed knowledgable and helpful. The ambiance is Buffalo Wild Wings. The food is average bar food. But it is fun playing the bar-wide trivia game. If you’re in downtown Indy, this is worth a visit. | | SpudClampDawg (43), Jasper, Indiana | | February 24, 2007 We had a GREAT beer experience here. The decor is average, BW3 chain and the food is just OK. The beer more than makes up for it though. They had Hopslam and Hop Juice on hand pull, plus another 30+ taps that included Ellie’s Brown, Brooklyn Chocolate, 471 DIPA, GI Matilda, Oaked Bastard, Delirium Noel and Piraat. Not too shabby at all. The bottled list is quite impressive as well - lots of DFH, Stone, Celebrator, Sam Smith, Unibroue stood out. As the night went on, the bartender brought in bottles from a tasting the owner held earlier that night and poured us samples right at the bar. Abbaye Noel, Cuvees Rene, Aecht Rauchbier, Corsendonk Amber were among those being shared. All bartenders seemed knowledgable as well. This is the best beer bar that I have been to in the city. | | footbalm (61), Western Minneapolis Suburbs, Minnesota | | December 31, 2006 Wow!! What a massive selection both on tap and in a bottle. 120 Minute IPA and Dreadnaught on tap. What’s up with that? Played some trivia game with the rest of the bar and this was a great place to relax after spending all day at a
convention. | | SubstanceT (114), Saint Louis, Missouri | | December 16, 2006 Thanks be to Indiana University for providing me a reason to come to indy and also have a chance to see the beer scene. I couldnt belive what I was hearing, that this was supposedly the best beer bar in the state. Well, after seeing I totally agree and say that it rivals most of the good beer bars that I have been too. Great selection and they had multiple local beers on tap and tons of huge beers from afar. If you are in the area this place is essential. Just beware, this is a smoking establisment and because a lot of Indy is non smoking there seems to be more people than I would have expected in here smoking | | Lowe1983 (11), Dayton, Ohio | | May 23, 2006 Found out about this place when I was at a beer tasting with the guy that runs AleFest in Indy, Dayton, and Cleveland, so my friend and I drove 2 hours to go. The beers on tap there were absolutely amazing. They had stuff like Oak-aged Arrogant Bastard, Bell’s double cream stout, and they even have certain bottles that they age in the basement. The bartenders were great, they knew about the beers they have and would even let you sample whatever you want. Definately worth the trip from Dayton. |
