| kassner (53), Wexford, Pennsylvania | | May 6, 2012 Nice service, good food, beer selection a bit thin. | | ryanfolty (104), Minneapolis, Minnesota | | February 14, 2012 Nice downtown location near my hotel so I checked it out today. Seemed like a typical chain bar, but I did like seeing the beer kettles behind the bar. Service was very slow and not too knowledgeable about the beers. Thankfully another bartender came around that finally got me a water and actually asked if I wanted another beer, while the other guy and 2 female bartenders didn’t after a significant amount of time. Flights of 4 with 4 ounce pours for $3.50 was a steal, great value there. Not much of a selection and the beers are just slightly above average. Worth a stop if you are already downtown, but probably not a destination with a bunch of other great options close. | | drowland (116), Tallahassee, Florida | | October 10, 2010 A well-lit chainy type place, as is to be expected. My waitress was prompt and somewhat knowledgeable about the products. The selection is mainly their stuff, some of the chain brews, a few things from the brewer, and a cask or two if you hit the right night. I only had an appetizer, and it was fine. Prices are average and reasonable. Overall, definitely better than the RAM, but you’re better off hitting some of the smaller homey brewpubs. If you have the time, go ahead and hit this one too. | | BeerandBlues2 (358), Lone Tree, Colorado | | October 8, 2010 Your typical Rock Bottom, but I always enjoy the local recipes and non-mandated beers. This location had two cask beers to accompany their regular line up. | | Block (28), West Lafayette, Indiana | | August 19, 2010 Decent beers. Good food. Nice ambiance. | | EithCubes (158), , Germany | | June 26, 2010 Location is decent. Really functions much better as a restaurant than as a brew-pub, and that’s saying something - waitress was good, but food was sort of bad - not stomach-churningly bad, but a hamburger and fries shouldn’t look like a plastic reproduction of a hamburger and fries, and for a minute or two after finishing, I should have some memory of what I just ate. As for the beers, good price on a long flight, but most of them just couldn’t ascend over that standard ’brewpub’ taste. Batting average is not very good - a lot of (bad, boring) misses for every hit. | | WabashMan (32), Noblesville, Indiana | | December 4, 2009 Rock Bottom is a brewpub chain that offers a nice selection of brews (usually with city specific names) and food. Food runs the gamut from sandwiches to steaks and I’ve been generally pleased with what I’ve had there. Beers are decent, but nothing spectacular. | | bhops (37), Dallas, Texas | | August 24, 2009 Next door to my hotel so not a bad location in city center. Typical rock bottom brewery. Had a flight and it really wasn’t bad. Not great but better than I remembered. Food was below average, typical of a chain. Bartender chick was nice and pretty hot in a midwestern kind of way. She had good beer knowledge. Really not a bad experience at all. | | BiddleBrau (58), Fort Washington, Pennsylvania | | August 12, 2009 Food was pretty good, beer was ok but nothing special. Went on a Sunday night so it was pretty quiet all around. Pretzels were tasty. Better as a restaurant than a brew-pub. Nothing all that special on my visit. | | Monroe1ato (11), Indiana | | January 27, 2009 Great downtown location but with all downtown places the parking sucks. They have really good food and not too terrible in price. Our waitress was very friendly. They have samples available. Rock Bottom has a rotating beer selection which keeps even seasoned samplers on their toes. Very knowledgable staff keep this chain restaurant from feeling like, well a chain restaurant. I’d recommend this place! Its in a great location, and (importantly) the beer was good, particularly the brewer’s choice brews. My favorite beer was the Tripel Trouble with 9.2% ABV. |
