mobius024 (1), New York does not count - explanation | | April 24, 2012 God knows how many beers are in this place. Pretty much, if it’s available for distribution in New York State, it’s here. Every employee seems to know where every beer is, so ask. So many Belgians, it’s esoteric. Growlers galore. | | jtclockwork (24), , New Jersey | | April 17, 2012 Great little beer shop in downtown Ithaca. Tons of local selections and some nice imports - about four-five beer aisles in total. Friendly service and the prices weren’t bad for local bombers - cheaper than in NJ. | | adnielsen (277), Fort Collins, Colorado | | March 6, 2012 If you’re staying in or driving through Ithaca, this place is a must stop. Their singles selection may be the best that I’ve seen with an endless selection of local bottles in addition to cool limited stuff like Cigar City Guava Grove, Rodenbach Vintage, and the Hanssens experimental lambics. Simply amazing beer shop. | boydstradamus (7), North Carolina does not count - explanation | | August 13, 2011 This is one of the best bottle shops in the whole state of NY. If it’s distributed in NY then they will most likely have it. They will also work out rare keg orders for you and have a rotating growler station with 12 taps that is well curated. The owners love some beer and are some of the most knowledgeable shop owners that I have met. | | swoopjones (190), Buffalo, New York | | August 1, 2011 great bottle/ growler store. top line selection, very reasonable pricing | | zach8270 (54), Henrietta, New York | | June 24, 2011 Stopped into this place last year during the Ithaca Brute release. Great selection of some hard to find stuff. Nice vintage lambics, including 3 Fonteinen. Big import selection. Saw a good amount of Southampton there too. Staff knew there stuff and was very willing to help. Check it out if you’re nearby. | randomjuice290 (3), does not count - explanation | | February 4, 2011 Incredible little store. Since Dogfish has blown up do to it’s little show on the Discovery Channel, it’s been nearly impossible to get even the common staples (90 minute, raison d’tre, indian brown) anywhere near Philly, Princeton, or even north Delaware. This store always has an incredible selection of Dogfish brews, and other hard to find selective releases. Make sure you spend some time and shop around. There is a lot of stuff that goes missing on the shelf if you get too excited in one area. Pick up what you came looking for and if you see a tag on the shelf but there’s no more beer, ask the owners. They will be happy to help you if they have more in the back. | | j12601 (214), Poughkeepsie, New York | | January 1, 2011 Definitely feels like you’ve walked into a basement or something, but there’s a ton of stuff here, especially for what would seem like the kind of town where you might not find such a nice selection. Going by how fast certain limited selection stuff vanishes from the shelves near me, and the amount of those same things still left on the shelf here, I can tell they probably don’t get a ton of demand for certain things, which makes it more impressive that they carry stuff that may run the risk of not moving. Found a number of things I don’t get back home including a few ciders. Didn’t really interact with the staff much. Prices seemed pretty good. Worth a stop if you’re in the area. | | alobar (43), Lansdale, Pennsylvania | | August 8, 2010 Love this place! Great selection! Good prices. Not much for ambience, but it’s a bottle shop. Worth a stop whenever you are in Ithaca. | | rudolf (93), Buffalo, New York | | April 24, 2010 A pretty good store. There was a good selection of stuff that I can’t get in Buffalo (Pretty Things, Thirsty Dog, Capt. Lawrence among others). Prices were comparable or cheaper than they are in Buffalo or Rochester. A few great finds - they had a display of Unibroue 2005 & 750ml bottles of 2004 Boon Marriage Parfait. I’ll certainly stop here again next time I’m in Ithaca. |
