| markwise (124), North of Tampa, Florida | | January 26, 2012 Stopped by during a busy Thursday night before New Year’s. This place was pretty happening and busy. Noisy inside, but plenty of patio seating and seemed like everyone could fit, but people were standing around all over. Long draft list including seasonal favorites, some Belgians, and some national breweries and many local Jacksonville and Florida breweries as well. They did not have any Engine 15 beers on, but still many solid selections. I would love to stop by next time I am in town and see their house beers. | | Msumax1985 (13), Florida | | November 27, 2011 Great place in a strip mall near the beach. My only complaint is that it’s hard to read the chalkboard with the huge selection. You can also brew your own. | | azorie (26), Florida | | September 7, 2011 July 2011 visit:
more food, better beer bottle list. Taps the same, chairs are horrible, too loud in there still. rating it higher but to us the atmosphere is just another beach bar, that is not on the beach, and is in a strip mall. They can brew now, but its a brew your own limited thing, that quite frankly makes the place even with less space, AKA they need a bigger place ASAP. Service sucks if your not at the bar, no 1 waits on your nor do they tell you that, you figure it out for yourself, and its not easy to get through to the bar if its packed.

went back to see if anything changed. The good point they got prices on the board now. still very difficult to read they should be over the bar, not on the other side of it. At least they got bottles listed. I give them a b+ for effort. Still its a Local’s clique type place, the chairs are just what kills it for me.

New place in strip mall, newest one on Beach near Penman, not far from the beach.
ok i was not going to rate this place yet. 1 visit and all that. So I am hoping the place will get better. not sure it can its in a small place. That is not a bad thing really. I am hoping they will start letting folks homebrew on site soon.
A: so other wise its a small strip mall bar, with a L shaped bar, and way too many of the sorry, rock hard on your ass wooden bar chairs I ever sat in. I would think they would want folks to stay and drink since, there is only a small bar food menu.
Service: well at the bar at the start of happy hour, timed that right. No menus, and the beer is on a flat board on the back wall, hard to read and NO BEER PRICES IS a big NO NO in my book. What’s the matter does the price change? heck even the receipt was void of prices. That bugs me, maybe things will improve.
Selection: well same standard overload of IPA, PA as most places with 20 taps in town.
Beer i had was ok, no big glass freak, so the ST creme B in a ST b glass no big deal, it was full to the rim so not bitching about that.
food: ok bar snacks mainly | | beernovice39 (146), South Carolina | | August 11, 2011 A fantastic tap room. Will be brewing their own soon. Home brew supplies also sold here. Great service! | | GT2 (196), Washington DC | | May 31, 2011 Located close to the beach in a strip mall. Engine 15 looks very small from the outside but inside is quite the hopping and exciting bar with apparently an already dedicated clientele. Tons of taps- over 32 with an additional bottle list though I didn’t pick through to see what they had. Beers on tap included Cigar City Minaret ESB, Franziskaner, Hofbrau Helles, Delirium Tremens. Food was very nice- cheese and honeycomb plate is excellent and would be great for a beer flight. Cuban sandwich was great too. Pretty fun place. They don’t have their own beers yet, but they are about to get their own brewing license so Jax Beach will be getting a microbrewery soon! |
