ALandry (7), , Italy does not count - explanation | | April 20, 2012 Great place to go for craft beers, disguised as an organic food store. I haven’t found anywhere else in Jacksonville with the same selections... | Jlo7399 (2), Florida does not count - explanation | | October 7, 2011 This is a great place to buy your bottles. You can customize 6-packs or buy a couple of bombers. They are very open to the craft beer crowd and very forthcoming on what’s coming in. This is a great stop for your craft bottle needs in Jacksonville. | | GT2 (196), Washington DC | | May 31, 2011 An excellent bottle shop by any standards (though disguised as an organic food store), Grassroots is really the only specialty craft beer store in Jacksonville. You can find some occasional stuff at Total Wine in the St Johns Town Center and perhaps at Whole Foods on San Jose Blvd, but really this place is really the closest thing Jax has to a real bottle shop. Thankfully, it is quite a good one. Lots of local Bold City distribution and lots of Cigar City comes in here. BFM, De Dolle, Stone, Jolly Pumpkin, Dupont, Saint Somewhere, Victory, Bells, etc. Lots of single bottles in small and large format with good prices. You can also buy proper glassware and pick up Cigar City snifters i.a. Very nice store, friendly staff. Thankfully, it is close to Kickbacks, Bold City, and Intuition and create a very small and close knit craft beer scene in Jacksonville focused in Riverside/King St. | | beernoevil (46), Suwanee, Georgia | | December 29, 2010 Smallish market with a very nice selection of craft beers. Many that I have not found elsewhere in the Jax area. They had almost the entire lineup from Cigar City whereas every other "beer" store I went to said, "What’s that? Some kind of cigar?" Prices are a little on the high side but it’s Little 5 Points so that’s kind of expected. They do sell almost everything in singles though so they get bonus points for that! | | azorie (26), Florida | | February 3, 2010 Nice little store, with suckie parking but for Riverside well its about average parking wise.
Its a nice organic store with good service, and they have a whole aisle for beer, and some seasonal stuff as well on the ends, which is nice. A great cheese selection.
The bad part is the prices the worse in town. I gotten very fresh beer here and the service is top of the mark. | morrdt (6), Dirty Mo’, North Carolina does not count - explanation | | January 10, 2010 This is a natural foods market that happens to carry some nice micro brewery beers, along with some of the imports. They also seem to stock all the seasonals from the common and the uncommon breweries around the world. On my visit, they had a few of the Belgian Christmas Ales along with a few micro brews like Rogue and Highland. Worth a look if you are looking for something locally and you haven’t found it. |
