Lot’s of prior reviews are pretty harsh on this place. I’m not a beer snob, so I’m not looking for rare or obscure items. I like a nice selection of IPA’s and other ales or seasonals from around the country, and this place has plenty. Prices are good. I like their singles selection.

Sort of out of the way inside St. Johns Town Center is a sort of random part of the giant outdoor mall that destroyed hundreds of pristine pine forest. This Total Wine is pretty run-of-the-mill: massive selection of mediocre beer from all over the planet with mix and match six packs...a tickers paradise! Occasionally they will have Cigar City or something interesting. They actually stock Bold City here, though Grassroots has more. All in all, I see no reason to come here anymore considering the much tighter selection at Grassroots. Forget about getting Struise, De Dolle, BFM, or anything that fancy at Total Wine. If you are on your way to or from Jax Beach, it’s worth stopping by. But if you are in Jacksonville for a quick beer trip, stay in Five Points Riverside and do Grassroots, Kickbacks, Bold City, and Intuition. There is no way they have 2,500 bottles though lol! Maybe 600. Actually, I would argue that Total Wine’s selection is moderately better than any Publix in town. So...go to Publix and get subs while you’re at it.

Best selection in Jacksonville, if that’s saying anything. Prices are also about the best, but they are not low. Lots of singles available and even full cases and kegs of some beers. Its mostly a wine and liquor store but they have improved the beer selection and presentation somewhat lately. Few of the staff have any clue about beer but they are willing to help. If you are in the area its worth a stop, but not worth a long trip to get there. If you live here, its hard not to shop this place at least occasionally.

If you have been to one etc. Still a decent place to try singles.

Tough to give an ambiance and service rating to a national chain, but they’re fine considering. Selection is quite good, pretty much the best you can get in a beer store in Jax. Prices are average to high. Like most have said, no reason to go out of your way, but if you’re in the area, it’s possible you might find something you’re looking for.

A well-lit store with so much wine you’ll go insane. My biggest complaint is that a lot of the beer is randomly scattered throughout the store and that finding the beer section is near impossible without some assistance. Just keep wondering back and to the left and you’ll eventually find it.

The service was okay. We were approached a couple of times, but we didn’t ask many questions besides "where is the beer section?" as we had been wondering for minutes.

The selection was fine, probably decent for Jacksonville/Florida, but nothing to phone home about.

Average to slightly high prices.

Overall, stop by if you’re in the area, but don’t make it a huge deal to get out there.

A selection that blows Tennessee out of the water, staff knows little about the product, but if you have been to any Total Wine’s you will mostly know what to expect.

Really nice well lit store with beer displays scattered throught out as well as a dedicated beer section with a nice selection of singles and warm and cold six packs. Huge selection of wine and liquor. Bombers and 12ozx singles. Not a ton of bombers, no real rare selections or deep lineups of any brewers.

Started out a very decent store in 2006. At that time they had a decent Belgian import selection, most of the German beers, and a few of the English, very few Scottish beers. They do have for this area a decent American micro single selection. They are a wine store and a volume store first. They have lost a whole beer island to wine coolers and BMC cases sells. Since the start of 2008 they have gotten in 6 new American micro companies. But they now have from about 50 Belgians (i mean real Belgian beers, not American clones) down to about 15, very sad. It’s better than ABC, but not better than most Broudy’s. I no longer want to shop there due to the management indifference to even attempting to reorder stuff they have in the catalog. This store does not hold a candle to the Tampa store. Only reason I came back was I heard they now carried Weyerbacher. They do not carry a full line of ANY micro’s. Since they are cheaper than Broudy’s though, its hard not to come back and get some stuff got time to time.
