Stopped in on the way through from Asheville to Abingdon and were pleasantly surprised. Nice and clean shop, pretty good selection, enthusiastic staff, and decent prices. Bonus that they do growler pours, singles, and sixers. Found some things we don’t get in VA.

(Visited 01/2013): Libation Station is on Roan Street on the north side of Johnson City, not too far off I-26 and next to Plaza Package. There is a decent-sized parking lot in front of the building.

The inside features coolers on the left, shelves throughout and a wall of taps in the rear where growler fills take place. Above the taps is a large digital readout of what beers they carry. In the back there is a cigar lounge as well.

Libation Station’s 27 taps consist of mostly domestic microbreweries (like Brooklyn) plus a couple macros. On the shelves are several hundred bottled offerings, including some regional beers from Highland, Depot Street and Yazoo. Several Ashville breweries represented as well, including growlers from Craggie.

Service on a slow weekday afternoon was good. The guy behind the counter knew the beers and made recommendations.

Overall this shop is better than anything I expected to find in JC, so I would definitely stop again.

Best beer store in JC, but that’s kinda like being the coolest spot in hell. Nice to have somewhere to fill a growler when Depot St isn’t open, but considering the number of taps, not a lot of a-list beers. I don’t buy many bottles here. Most everything is $1 to $3 more than in NC.

Great selection for the area. Several beers on tap and growlers are cheap. Wish it was in a better location.

Cool place for Johnson City. Good selection of beers, the Libation Station has a nice selection of under 6% beers(Stupid TN beer laws). However the Plaza has a very nice selection of High Gravity beers for Johnson City. The Plaza is located right next to the Libation Station. The station has a very nice cigar lounge for members only. Awesome Humidor full of cigars. Cool place, definitely my favorite in JC,TN.

Very friendly staff. Owner personally meets the clientele and is always friendly. They really have a passion for beers and cigars. Ambiance of the new cigar room is phenomenal. This is a place you’d expect in a much larger city. Nothing in this area even compares to it. They get ALL my business for cigars and craft breweries.

Excellent selection of beer and cigars, next door in same building also has a great wine selection as well. The beers they keep on tap are always impossible to find in bottles except for variety packs and alot of luck. The hoppyum is a must try as is serveral porters and stouts they regularly keep flowing. If you like a great beer and a great cigar this is a must visit!

Nice store...probably the best selection of beer in the Tri-Cities. The beer is reasonably priced. I prefer the attached liquor store (due to the high %age beers there: Stone Brewing, Ommnegang, Chimay, etc.), but this place is a good store with an approachable staff. 70

Definitely the best selection in the tri-cities area and worth a stop if you’re in the vicinity.

This is a good sized beer store divided in half: high alcohol on one side. The liquor side has as good a selection as you’re gonna get anywhere in east TN with mostly Belgian imports. I didn’t see anything I couldn’t get in Knoxville. The beer side of the store was more impressive with a few rarer things especially counting the taps available for growler fills. Foothills Hoppyum, Highland Black Mocha Stout to name a couple. All the growlers except Lindeman’s were less than $10 per fill. Single bottles are available for most of the selection. As far a I’m concerned, this is the only beer store in Johnson City
