The Pub

Had run out of Lion Stout so only the lager was available on draught. Fairly certain staff said closed at 23:00. Within 10 mins of railway station.

First floor bar with outside seating. Hyperactive staff are keen to replace any empty bottles... but aside from that, the only actual restaurant/bar at the time that had the Lion Stout available (Dec2016).

Echte kroeg met iets ruimere keuze dan in de hotels. Aangename verpozing terwijl de dames winkelen...

Ok service. Selection bad. Had only Carlsberg and lion lager when i was there. This seems to be the case in Many places in Sri Lanka now. The beer menu tegls you they have a lot of beers to choose amount, but they end up having only 2 or 3. Food was Not tried.

Probably the best tourist bar in Kandy, the pub is located upstairs on a main street near Kandy lake and the Tooth Temple. There’s a large indoors area and a nice (but popular) balcony area over the street below. The beer selection is small as with anywhere in Sri Lanka, but it’s a nice place to sample some of the local brews and offers a few more than just the Lion beers that you can find anywhere. Food is simple and a little overpriced by Sri Lankan standards but is ok.
