Love this place. Good atmosphere. Laid back and busy all at once. Cool location downtown.

ridiculous number of taps, and even more bottles. bordering on overwhelming. it took forever to figure out what beers i should try. i can’t imagine someone couldn’t find something to suit them. food was quite good as well.

Lots of beers on tap. Always new stuff on tap and in the bottle. I love the Wednesday Brewery Night (buy the beer, get the glass) and Thursday Rare Tap Night. I wish I could get here more often. One of the best places to get rare beers in Kansas City.

a good beer bar, but really a nasty restaurant. the employees are amazing, it’s just a corporate franchise deal. taps are not the most well maintained either. if i wasn’t so against drinking and driving i would go more on the special nights and whatnot, but to get the most out of the spot you really need a ride home. for the record, the food is prepared well, they are just shitty typical dishes.

A very comfortable place to try a lot of new beers. Depending on the night, it can be quite crowded and noisy, but still pleasant enough. The ability to sample a lot of different beers by purchasing a flight is a great way to try a lot for a smaller price point. The staff seems moderately knowledgeable and they have a high turnover on new beers, so there is always something new. Didn’t eat, so I can’t rate the food.

Good beer selection. Food isn’t that good. But Mondays they have good deals on draws.

one of the best selections in the KC metro. Tons of taps, decent selection of bottles. Decent food. Pub quizes every week.

(Visited 06/2011): This Flying Saucer location is in downtown KC in the Power & Light district off Walnut and E 13th. Street parking and a couple garages in the area provide options. The interior is similar to other locations. The bar is directly in the back and there is table seating throughout the rest of the space. Saucers adorn the walls for those who have completed the tour. With respect to the beers, Flying Saucer has over 50 with many seasonal and regional options from Free State, Boulevard, and Schlafly. They also had a Stone firkin on my visit. Many different varieties of samplers are available too, or you can build your own. As for bottles there are over 100 with many craft options from Boulevard, Bells, Schlafly, Avery, New Belgium, O’Dell etc. Some imports from Mikkeller, St. Bernardus, Unibroue and the like. Service on a weekday lunch was good. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the beers they carried and was attentive and friendly. We did not have food on our visit. Overall Flying Saucer is one of those places which for better or worse you know what you are going to get. When it comes to being somewhere that you aren’t sure what beer options you have it is always a good bet.

Amazing place. The beer selection is great, but has some short comings. The servers are knowledgeable, and the food is fantastic! One of my favs!

Coming from a local. I always feel bad going here. All that beer and I never want anything on tap. How do you keep so much on tap yet nothing that interests me. Prices are a bit high. Food is horrible, just tasteless prefab food. Its in a bad place, meaning parking is a bitch and not my type of crowd. They do events, which is great but they are packed and not worth it. Its a lot like any other Flying Saucer. And why is there not updated tap list? I go here but I always end up regretting it.
