| KAggie97 (213), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas | | November 23, 2011 Great little beer store that has a surprisingly lartge selection despite the dimensional challenges. Tons of good stuff from all over the world and America; I’m envious that this place isn’t MY local beer store. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Highly recommended. | | jandd1983 (87), Florissant, Missouri | | July 4, 2011 July 3rd visit, had very organized shelves, good cooler selection, sale prices and helpful/knowledgeable staff. Let a friend try a beer before purchasing, very unique concept. Will definitley visit again while in KC. | htlp12 (8), does not count - explanation | | March 10, 2010 Easily my least favorite of the Gomer’s stores. I will hit it on occasion when stopping by other local places, but am never impressed. The one thing they have going is selection (although still lagging behind local Royal and Lukas and there counterpart Gomer’s), there is plenty of offerings, but no real rhyme or reason to the layout. They are pretty short on cooler doors, so 90 percent plus is stacked on the cramped shelves. Prices are in line with other local stores. Place is in a dumpy part of the city, so maybe that’s why the staff seems on edge and not friendly. Regardless, you can feel comfortable skipping this one. | | KapitiCritique (32), Kansas City, Missouri | | January 6, 2010 Seriously disorganised: If they got their act together (and some folks here are being kind when they rate it) I’d add another 5 to 6 points overall. Staff: usually friendly and helpful but they are dealing with the same disorganisation. | Grizzle (2), Lawrence, Kansas does not count - explanation | | February 15, 2009 It’s a liquor store with a great selection, plus they sell cheeses and other foods appropriate for the selection of beverages they sell.
Helpful staff when unable to find what you’re looking for. | | theisti (273), Leawood, Kansas | | April 21, 2008 [ Updated May 15, 2009 ] I have visited multiple times. Selection is less than Lukas KC or Royal 103rd, about on par with Gomers in midtown. Having said that, there are beers to be found here for locals, though if I was visiting from out of town I would hit one of the other stores mentioned. No mix a six offered. Service has been consistently null over the years. Beer is scattered in a couple of places, so make sure to look around. This place is a real dump, inside and out, though it does have character. On the plus side, prices here are pretty good. Update May 2009 - beer organization and selection have been improving. | | bu11zeye (113), Frisco (Dallas), Texas | | February 1, 2006 Descent selection of imports (Belgians & UK) and a few locals for the Kansas City area. However, they did not have many beers that I had not previously tried. | seamus77 (6), kansas city, Missouri does not count - explanation | | July 22, 2005 what a dump. like an unfinished basement in your crazy pack-rat uncle’s house. but, maybe by not spending any $$ on upkeep or meeting health codes, they are able to give you the lower prices. they have a few nice things, shoved in the back corner, literally tossed in a heap on shelves and the floor, Salopian entire butt, Adriaan, St. Bernardus, O’Fallon, and i found a couple of Duval in the black label (be forewarned, check dates!) all in all, they have a decent selection, great prices, but ambiance and customer service is non existant. | | Indra (64), Overland Park, Kansas | | June 28, 2005 [ Updated May 14, 2009 ] Probably the third best bottle shop in the greater Kansas City area. Selection is really quite good, and prices are usually very reasonable. Not a bad place to stop. Once upon a time this was maybe the best beer store in town, but times have changed a bit. | | KUEric (106), Washington, Washington DC | | June 23, 2005 [ Updated August 5, 2005 ] Have a great selection. A very helpful staff. Selling by the bottle is key. Organization could use some work. Was suprised by the amount of Belgiums. |
