The beer is average at best. They do have other beer that they don’t brew as well. The food wasn’t the best. The service was well above average, and that is what saved the night. Average place at best. Other better places in the KC area, but give it a try if you want.

(Visited 04/2010): This Granite City location is not too far from the Kansas City airport in the Zona Rosa strip mall area off I-29. Parking is plentiful nearby. The inside is similar to other locations, with lots of stone and wood. The bar is to the right of the entrance with some booth seating. The rest of the space is devoted to restaurant seating. The bar is long As with other Granite City locations, the beer selection is around 6 taps with the standard chain brewpub fare such as an IPA, Stout, Bock, Lager, etc. I did not check on the bottled offerings. The beers are pretty average on the whole. Service on a weekday afternoon was decent. My server was efficient and explained all of the beers to me. Food at Rock Bottom is upscale pub grub. The salad I ordered was fresh and tasty. Overall there is no reason not to stop here after landing at KCI since it is close and is the only place nearby with craft beers. I wouldn’t make a special trip to visit though.

Stopped in here for lunch one day. Service was OK, not outstanding. Food selction was very good. Had two beers, both good--especially the stout. Was fairly loud. Crowded. Parking good. Close to the airport. Overall, interesting place. Would like to go back for more leisurely visit.

A chain brewpub, but not bad for being what it is. Mug club offers big 23 oz beers for the price of a regular pint and a discount off food. Great for a burger and a brew, the two pull a combination of the bock and northern light is a great compliment.

For as pretentious as this place comes off as, their beers should be better. Nice and clean and overpriced during normal hours. Luckily this location has $5 pitchers on Thursdays, when I was there. That is, if you really want an entire pitcher of any of their beers. The pale ale was solid, the stout wasn’t horrible. Otherwise, I’d skip it and certainly wouldn’t pay the normal prices for a glass of this stuff.

This is the North Kansas City outlet of the national brew pub chain. The interior is very generic, not much in the way of interest. However, I had beers and some food in the bar, and the service was VERY attentive and friendly. Offered samples, which was very nice. Overall, food was good, beer was average. Hit this one up if you are in the area, otherwise probably not worth the trip IMO.

Nice new place in KCMO. This place is pretty big but the bar area is tiny. Service was pretty decent. Food was really good, and it was priced about as expected. Beers were better than I thought they’d be, but nothing outstanding. Their IPA was good, but it was more like a pale ale than an IPA. I’ll go back.

A little pricey with its location being in the upscale "Zona Rosa" area of Kansas City. The beers are not actually brewed on premises. They are brewed in Iowa and the wort is trucked in to be fermented and served at the local brewpub. The food was good and standard pub fare. The beers were lackluster and a couple had phenolic off flavors indicative of a sanitation problem.

Good food with large portions. Average brewpub lineup with usually on seasonal offering. The server liked to compare their beers to certain macros, which none were even close.
