A bit of a gritty restaurant/beer bar north of the plaza. Service was a slow and I was continually given out of date beer menus that made ordering beers quite difficult. Furthermore server was not familiar with the beers at all. Food was alright and prices were a touch high. I left disappointed.

Real fucken chill place with a nice atmosphere and good service. Lots of good, fresh beers on tap. One of my favorite stops in KC.

Good beer selection but almost always out of several beers on the menu. Decent service but easily distracted with so many people there. Decent food selection- nothing special and not too pricey.

Attached to McCoy’s and probably same owners as Beer Kitchen across the street. These three bars make the Westport trendy neighborhood the place to be for beer in KC. Foundry has a trendier, modern atmosphere. Larger, varied tap list compared to its peers. Better food than the typical pub far at McCoy’s next door. And it has some of the low quality McCoy’s house beers on tap just not as many as the brewpub side. Foundry offers tasters whereas the McCoy side seems to not know what a taster means. Fun place. Still, I liked Beer Kitchen even better.

Really cool vibe and decor here. Draft list was sizable, but they were out of more than half of what we tried to order from the draft list which was frustrating as the selection itself was solid and intriguing (also a bit pricey). Did not eat so no judgment there, but the food I did see leaving the kitchen looked and smelled good. The Foundry is next to McCoy’s and across from Beer Kitchen which are all under the same ownership. I would definitely return again.

This is a pretty cool spot to hang out. They are owned by the same people at McCoy’s and Beer Kitchen across the street. It is actually attached to McCoy’s and serves all their beer. We tried to order a bunch of pony (6oz) size beers to make our own local tasting. Unfortunately, they were out of about half of the special things. It was pretty frustrating because we would tell the server what we wanted, he would come back 4 minutes later and say they were out, we would tell him a replacement, they would be out of that...etc. etc. Our friends ordered food which looked very nice quality. The clientele gets a little douchy later at night. We came back at about 1 in the morning until close, and it is a really great late night hang out place. There’s 4 great beer places to check out right here, so if you like beer, you should visit this neighborhood

Stopped in while in KC for work and things got off to an interesting start. Apparently I entered the parking lot the wrong way and took some dude’s spot. We both walked in together and he made it a point to mention that to me. Oops, my bad, hahaha. Seemed like a cool joint. Beers on tap and in bottles were solid. Samples of the Mccoy’s beers for $4 was awesome. Service was solid and food was pretty good. I would come back for sure.

Nice place to visit for a beer. Totallyi different from the McCoys next door (same ownership). The half pours are a nice feature. Good selection of taps and bottles. A must visit.

I would probably put The Foundry as the 2nd best bar for beer in Kansas City, behind Flying Saucer. Around 32 beers on tap, the selection rotates pretty often. They will also have McCoy’s beers on tap (from McCoy’s next door). Good selection, good atmosphere.

Modern garage-cool bar with young crowd and plenty of tattoos. Beer list is all over the map in an interesting way, overcoming reliance on the sister brewpub next door. Barman seemed to know his stuff. Tasty, stylish, overpriced nibbles. Beers were a bit pricey too, we thought, but a fun place to drink, especially if living or staying nearby.
