| mbpufall (14), Andover, Minnesota | | April 6, 2012 Solid place - huge patio with a bar that completely opens up to it. Was there on a perfect spring night and it was amazing. Decent beer selection - nice vbariety of about 20 taps plus the house taps. A decent beer "cellar" locked on the floor, but nothing amazing. Good food - the beer pretels were amazeballs. Service was fine, but nothing to get excited about, regular restaurant/bar service. I would go back, though...for sure. | kcdrew (7), Missouri does not count - explanation | | December 17, 2011 Great place to get craft beer and good food. They even have their in-house micro-brews that are way better than expected. Micro-brews are $3 after 10pm. Awesome | | beastiefan2k (141), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas | | December 11, 2011 Been here many times while leaving in KS. This is owned by the same people that own McCoy’s and the beer place across the street. So, its a good visit b/c you have 3 beer places all in one spot (and also the Riot Room close by). Foundry is particularly cool b/c you could walk b/w there and McCoy’s without stepping outside, so more beer choices. They usually have a few McCoy’s brews on tap and a mix other other. I have always found something worthwhile to drink. Sometimes they get a more special keg. But general selection is good. They often have lots of Belgians. Their biggest downside is prices can be high, especially anything imported. Bar services has always been prompt and polite. Food is above average pub fare, good apps. Ambiance is nice, while still seems like a corporate design at least they try. If you had to visit one place in KC I would recommend either Westport or Waldo. | | Indra (64), Overland Park, Kansas | | July 21, 2011 Have visited a few times so far this year. Has a very choice selection of taps, about 20-25 draft beers, but this is sure to be what is new, fresh and hip in the craft beer scene. Very large selection of bottles as well, from all styles. Food selection is fairly wide, for the type of place that it is, there are a lot of appetizer-y things but other stuff like salads, pizza, sandwiches, etc. Sort of retro, blue-collar, workaday vibe, but overall is my personal favorite beer bar in KC. They may not have as many taps as Flying Saucer, but as I mentioned, the taps they do have are extremely well-chosen, and I like the scene a heck of a lot better than Power & Light. If you are planning on hitting up McCoy’s while in KC, do yourself a favor and head to the Foundry as well, you’ll be glad you did. | | SudsMcDuff (112), .....Manchester United.........., Texas | | July 15, 2011 After wasting my time at McCoys, this place made me smile again.. Had alot of the McCoy beers, and a kickass tap section of other micros with a cool little bottle section too.. really enjoyable food, weed plants growing outside, and the hippest bathrooms in history.. . friendly staff, unique atmosphere and across the street from beer kitchen, what else could you want! | thomas15 (4), Missouri does not count - explanation | | May 19, 2011 taps are well maintained. great rotation of beers. some rare stuff, some out of region stuff, good internationals. have never had to order a bottle from here or a mccoys brewery beer, not that they are bad. im poor and if im going out, i try to go here based on selection. | | eclaycamp (35), , Kansas | | May 15, 2011 While places in Power and Light get all the publicity, I still like the hole-in-the wall chic of the Foundry in Westport. They have a tremendous selection of craft beer, both on tap and in bottles, with lots of rarities and unique choices. The food menu and choices are all inspired. Overall it’s one of my favorite places to stop when I’m in KC. | squigs46 (3), Kansas City, Missouri does not count - explanation | | February 15, 2011 cool little place in KCs westport area. different crowds here make it easy to walk into. | | Zinister (52), Houston, Texas | | March 15, 2009 Decent little place with good beer selection and damn tasty food. TNT Tacos were damn good. | | bleeng (102), Houston nowhere near Beersel, Texas | | February 3, 2009 [ Updated April 7, 2009 ] Nice tap and bottle beer list, plenty of bar seating, TV’s and good service. All of McCoys beers on tap. Food is good. I’ll go back here instead of McCoys. |
