Amazing store in Key West - outstanding service, lots of great beer (lots of Cigar City as well, as expected), plus singles of anything.

In a non-vacation city, Conch Republic Liquors would be an ordinary corner liquor store rather than a place beer geeks would seek out. But if you’re reading this, then chances are very good you are a beer nerd looking for a place to get good beer while visiting Key West, Florida.

In fact, my score is quite generous since I’m grading on a curve here. Since CRL is, from what I can tell, the only liquor store in town that sells craft beers, the fact their selection is as good as it is really impressed me.

This store carries several Belgian beers including all three Chimays, Orval, Leffe and Affligem. They carry almost the entire line of Dogfish Head; and a handful each of Stone, Rogue and Bell’s. They also have a good selection (again, grading on a curve) of British beers like Samuel Smith’s and German beers with several hefeweizens available.

Surprisingly, there is not a lot in terms of major gateway craft breweries such as Magic Hat, Samuel Adams, etc. Several macros in 6, 12 and 24-packs are also available for those who absolutely need a lot of beer with the word "light" in the name.

I was actually surprised a store this small offers a "make your own six pack" special. They also discount your purchase 10% off per bottle. The two gentlemen at the counter were very courteous and knowledgeable and were impressed by my beer knowledge.

If you’re in Key West this is pretty much the only game in town aside from a select few bars. I’d say CRL’s selection is good enough to satisfy the average beer geek vacationing here.
