| Johnsense (33), , | | January 30, 2012 Bowery-esque appearance inside - an older bar, very little seats, but some great music and cult movies being projected. Fred makes time for EVERYONE - the place was jam packed and he still took time to talk, serve, etc. The locals are pretty friendly even if most had a bit of trouble with my English., Only HOST beer on tap, but a good number of them including some rarer samples. Bring your own food - Fred doesn’t cook. I enjoyed a few servings of what was on tap and took away many bottles for a very manageble dollar amount. | | kubilai (12), , Quebec | | August 27, 2011 Sublime place for real beer lovers. Ambiance is ok. World class liquids are brewed there. You sometimes feel like disturbing the brewmaster (That prevent me to give a higher score for Service) but when you have a chance to talk brew with that guy. Wow. He knows... | wooool (5), montreal, Quebec does not count - explanation | | March 22, 2011 Very nice place, ambiance is incredible, the service was very good with a good selection of beers. Beer quality was good and inspired great beersin the future. Food was delicious and not too expensive. J’adore! | | bedainedebiere (34), Terrebonne, Quebec | | July 19, 2009 [ Updated August 26, 2010 ] Strange looking building, white with blue shady windows. Nobody should care about that as it is like a beer Mekka in Québec’s imaginary country, with unique and well-crafted beers. Hopefully the green Ostalgia character on the side of the street tells you you’re finally there, at the regional paradise of beers. Some paintings of obviously the same portraitist offer artistic life and quality elements of decoration, but the overall set up, with old couches and the dinner room set is quite awkward but their utility and the amazing beers help to deal with that. The service is most of the time done by the brewer so any question will have a precise answer. Some locals and various beer freaks are usually not in sufficient numbers to make the place look crowded A tremendous place for beer lovers because these beers are world class for many and they are hardly available anywhere else. Reminders from august 2010: opened 16h to 22h (or later) thursday, friday and saturday, and some 750 ml bottle are sold to take home. | | JulienHuxley (64), Trois-Rivieres, Quebec | | July 6, 2009 Easy access from highway 40, this brewpub is actually just a little saloon like place attached to the brewery. No food is served but you can order anything you like from neighboring restaurants. The barmaid and master brewer were there during our visit. They had a good selection of beers on tap (12) and all but one were available. Also available were 4 oak aged bottled beers for consumption at the bar. The place only loses selection points because of the many advertised take home bottles that were unavailable. The prices were very decent. If you visit the place you and the master brewer is in the mood you might get a vintage alice in wonderland movie and a bit of classic music as he talks about all of his work. |
