A good selection for the area, including both local and non-Midwestern brews. They also have a great selection for mixed six-packs. My only complaint would be that some of their beers are left on the shelf for too long. On the other hand, the staff is very friendly and when they didn’t have a seasonal beer I was looking for they took my name and number and called me a few weeks later when some more bottles came in.

This and the Cork n Barrel on 23rd are the 2 best stores in town. New store so its clean. Lots of singles, some lambics not available in the other stores. Once in a while the break up the mix packs of Saranac or Sam Adams and you can get those as singles, which almost no one else does.

New as of 12/09. In the top two if not the best beer selection in Lawrence. Good range of American and European beers. Massive selection of singles that are cold as well as a couple of coolers of bombers. I spoke with a guy there, who might not have been that knowledgeable about beer but was very enthusiastic. Cute college girls behind the counter to boot!

Recently opened, so inside decor was not quite finished at the time of this rating. Great beer selection with a BYOSP option. I’ve found many beers at OtR that I had looked for at other shops in Lawrence without success - including the Ayinger Celebrator and several varieties of Eisbocks. Staff is very friendly and willing to discuss products.
