| dogbomb (27), , England | | April 1, 2012 Lovely Bar. Lots of nooks and crannies to hide amongst, a whole ton of beer on tap and a whole bunch more in bottle. Even on a late Saturday, and with the place buzzing (including a drunken Stag do) there was a lovely atmosphere about the place. Really chilled, relaxed and perfect beer. What more could you ask for really? | | Fin (243), Merton, Oxfordshire, England, England | | March 26, 2012 We (me, dad & Barry) visited here on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th March 2012. I really quite liked this place, the beer selection was very decent with Revelutions, Summer Wine and Magic Rock amongst the offerings plus a very good choice of bottle in the refridgerators. Staff were very good, and atmosphere very pleasant. We sat in the back area on the Saturday lounging on a large sofa, we did this again on the Sunday afternoon and then on the Sunday night returned and sat in the front bar area until chucking out time. I think that I may have preferred this to the North Bar which whilst excellent in many respects can get crowded and appeared far more expensive than Mr Foleys. | | dynamiteninja (46), York, England | | January 24, 2011 Good selection, well kept. Good atmosphere in a comfortable and friendly pub. | | Rune (234), Tromsų, Norway | | July 20, 2010 First class real ale pub situated on the other side of the Town Hall in Leeds. From the street you walk straight into the bar and then there are two seating areas on two half levels completed by a back room. We saw the Soccer World Cup final, Spain against Netherlands, here and had a jolly good time. Nine hand-pulled ales, four from the York Brewery, and they were all new to me. It is possible to order a sample tray with four different ales in one-third pint glasses. In addition there is a wide selection a world beer on tap and from bottle. Friendly and helpful staff (visited twice on Sunday 11.07.2010). | | TheGrandMaster (102), Auckland, New Zealand | | August 12, 2009 Large bar with a large selection of cask ales (as well as a few good foreign beers in the fridges). | | downender (196), Bristol, England | | June 23, 2009 Visited mid-afternoon on 23/06/09, so unsurprisingly rather quiet. Excellent range of 9 cask ales from the likes of York, Elland, Mallinsons and Lytham, all served in good condition. Friendly service and Wimbledon tennis to watch with the sound turned down low. Well worth a visit. | | Gazza (153), Worcester, England | | March 31, 2009 Large pub with a deliciously ornate exterior situated smack on the Headrow opposite city hall. A wide range of York (for they own it) beers are on sale plus guests in addition to a disappointing bottle list. The interior is on different levels and is somewhat unusual. Big-screen TVs ruin the atmosphere during sport events. The best beer range in the city. |
