Visit on a Tuesday night, was quietish. Excellent, large not huge, beer selection, friendly girls behind the bar. Didn’t eat. Like a small low key Northern bar with eclectic music and nice beer drinking atmosphere.

Really good selection of local and international beers. nice cafe style ambience and it gets some bonus points from me because Belle and Sebastian was on the stereo when I was there. Food and wifi was available.

Cracking bar. Seems a bit daunting from the street, all cramped and bustling - but once you get inside you see exactly why it’s so busy. Tons of choice, great atmosphere, excellent knowledgeable staff... brilliant! Could happily sit here for a week. A little pricey on some of the beers, but nothing outrageous. The food looked good too, though we didn’t have any.

cracking bar. probably the best selection in Leeds. if you want it they’ve got it and if not they offer to blend something! could happily have spent several hours and a big chunk of cash here. The only real downsides are the lack of space and comfy seats and the somewhat high prices. Having said that i’ll be straight back at the next opportunity.

I love going to North! Looking into the fridges is like being a kid in a sweet shop again- there’s just too many bottles to just pick 1 beer you want!! The staff always seem to find a drink that im in the mood for, and I am quite fussy at times so thats always a bonus. They got me trying their "beer cocktails" last time, which as crazy as they sound are actually pretty good. Apparantly they invented all the recipies themselves too. Ive had ther food in the past, which is simple, but it does the job. The prices range across the board, but you pay for what you get really (cheaper drinks being local ales around the £3 mark, and more expensive stuff being exports from all over the world). Highly recommended!

Good sized bar in the centre of Leeds, friendly knowledgeable staff who appear to care about the products they sell. Selection was impressive especially when compared with other places in the area. A must visit if you find yourself in Leeds or the surrounding area.

The only place to drink beer in Leeds or northern England. Other than the Rake in Borough Market or Evening Star in Brighton it’s the only outlet to out do all the rest. Be assured you’ll never fail to be Hop or Grain happy again.

Only been here a couple of times, but loved it. Sort of cafe-style ambience, relaxed yet sophisticated. Amazing beer selection, with a definite emphasis on the Continental (Belgian/German etc) side of things, but that’s no bad thing. About 10 keg lines which seem to constantly rotate. Highlights from my visit were Anchor Brekle’s Brown, Koestritzer Schwarzbier, SWB Cossack. It’s pricey, but no more so than any other craft beer bar serving similar beers. Definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in the area, a real gem.

Absolutely in love with this place. Unassuming, cafe-like exterior that extends back towards the bar. Can be pleasantly bustling from early-evening-night, or quiet and intimate in the early afternoon (my favourite time). Staff are without exception knowledgeable and pleasant, very helpful and inclusive. Very little pretence about this place, it’s welcoming and feels warm. Haven’t tried the food and so haven’t rated, but the value does look good. Outstanding selection of beers, with lots of other drinks available too. Prices can be a touch high for my meagre student budget at times, but normally it’s not a huge problem - the selection more than makes up for it. Overall, it’s a great bar that’s very hard to fault.

One of the best beer selections I’ve come across in Britain, fantastic knowledgeable and friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. This place is astonishing. Normally I prefer a more traditional pub, but this place feels like a neighbourhood bar in Chicago, my home town. In a good way!
