| Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | September 3, 2011 So... it’s a Wegman’s with all the standard Wegman’s amenities. Acres of parking. Had a hard time finding my way out of the place. Prices are solid. Lots of beers, all your more common macro, US micro and some foreign beers. I think a previous rater misinterpreted the sign on the singles section. You have to get AT LEAST three types of beer, so if you want to get 6 different ones that’s fine. Granted they didn’t have much that I wanted. Sorry, but sticking wine coolers in the beer singles is just pathetic. They do still have 3 beers on tap... today it was Raging Bitch, Highland Gaelic and a Sam Adams seasonal. Didn’t inquire about prices. Granted I usually go to the other locations later in the day, but this one did have an employee on hand who was knowledgeable about the beer and wine selection, something I’ve NOT see at other Wegman’s. | | weihenweizen (63), Charleston Area, West Virginia | | July 4, 2011 This place has a good selection of six packs, pretty good selection of the pricey singles, and they also have sixer mixers that have to be gotten in multiples of three. This place could easily add another ten points to its rating by doubling is singles variety. The best thing about this place is the prices. | | magsinva (55), Virginia | | May 16, 2011 Great selection, great prices, BYO sixers and a couple of beers on tap! Life is good! Compared to the Wegmans in Sterling, this location has a better beer selection that is better organized. Wish they had a larger selection of singles for the BYO sixer (only about 50 of their bottles are sold as mixable singles of the roughly 400 they have in sixers on the shelf). | | DiarmaidBHK (307), Pennsylvania | | February 22, 2011 Nice selection. It’s about 60% of what they have at total wine but it’s pretty good for a grocery store. Prices are reasonable as well. | | Elwood (83), Leesburg, Virginia | | November 11, 2009 The Wegman’s in Leesburg has finally opened. Pluses to this location include three taps at the seafood bar (they had Delirium Noel, Dogfish Head 60 Minute, and Sam Adam’s Winter Ale on tap when I was there). Prices for the two lower level beers were $2.50 and $8.00 for the Delirium. They also had several beer selections available in the cold case. The biggest benefit is the number of brews available in their beer aisle. A nice selection of craft and regional beer from around the world and pricing that will beat out the local grocery stores and Total Wine. Overall I call it a win for Leesburg. |
