| dynamiteninja (46), York, England | | September 23, 2010 [ Updated May 18, 2011 ] The proprietor Muree is a proud shopkeep, and keeps a fine shop with a keen selection of ales. A tad overpriced, even by the standard of independent beer shops. | | Richy (10), Dublin, Ireland | | January 13, 2010 Great little beer shop. Owner is friendly, selection is fantastic. A little out of the way, but worth the trek.
Not the cheapest of places however at about £2-4 a bottle, only slightly less than pub prices. | leaparsons (6), Leicester, England does not count - explanation | | June 8, 2004 [ Updated August 12, 2005 ] Daniel is dead right. The Offie is the best beer shop in Leicester. I live 5 minutes walk away so it is very handy! Muree is someone I happily chat to long after I have purchased my beers. If you are interested there is a website: http://www.the-offie.co.uk/ Of course there’s nothing better than turning up and having a browse and a chat. | | DanielBrown (191), Birmingham (via Leicester), England | | June 7, 2004 [ Updated September 1, 2011 ] One of the best beer shops in the UK, stacked to the rafters with great quality beers, wines and spirits, and run by the ever so friendly Muree. New stuff pops up regularly, to augment the impressive selections of British micros, and German and Belgian brews. Well worth a visit if you’re in the Midlands. |
